4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22.oz Bomber to English Pint. Sorry no snifter available. Solid Stout color almost impenetrable mahogany with a lovely dark khaki head. A respectable quality good tavern pour like head with good small bubbles. As the head dissipates the lacing is present but not super sticky. Aromas are light but satisfying. Roasted coffee and malt with mild chocolate notes. The taste and mouthfeel are where this brew shines. The bitterness/ sweet balance is spot on. A medium roast coffee taste with a bit of slate and a floral hop undertone and the bakers chocolate contribution.Glad I tried this one. Not spectacular but well made and quite tasty. Would buy again and the price is terrific. The bomber would make a perfect split with your friend or date for an after dinner beer.

Pretty dark pour with minimal brown top. Aroma is expected bounty of roast, but not much more. Wow, this is tasty for one of my favorite styles! Sweet, dark chocolate flavors with some roast and chocolate make for a very pleasant sip all the way through. Finish is slightly dry, and happy to have more.

Dark body, tan head. Nice malty, coffee aroma. Sweet taste, getting a lot of coffee beans and vanilla. Solid imp, nothing special though.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted this in the Valhalla Bar, 815 9th Avenue New York on the 22nd September 2015. Keg, flight glass. Dull black in colour with a thin pale creamy buff head. Strong intense notes of dark Ecuadorian chocolate on the nose. Superb creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark malt complex leads to a rich background of intense dark chocolate, liquorice, vanilla pods and black coffee. There is just a hint of hop resins lurking in the background but this vanishes in the briefest of aftertastes. Finish is silky smooth and malt all the way. Strong flavours of oak aged bourbon barrel gives a warming alcohol burr in the mouth with dark chocolate still present. A cracking Imperial Stout and highly recommended.

Bottle from Antenna America. Black pour with a small tan head. Really chocolately aroma with some malts behind it. Full flavour, lots of chocolate and coffee. The booze comes through at the end.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Massive mocha head, very persistent for the ABV. Very dark brown colour. Rich bitter chocolate, toffee, light roast, slight soy sauce. Lacking a little in the roast department. Med-full body, med carbonation. Bitter sweet finish.

Feels like 5% stout, so deliciously smooth at 9.9% and pours a lovely thick pearly-white head. Voluptuous. Totally decadent with caramel and cereal notes. Black as coal with a thick pour that looks like watery molasses.
Full bodied and heavy for beer in general, but at this percentage, it feels moderately bodied and oily on the tongue. Very nice. 2 or 3 of these and you’ll sleep like a baby.

This had all the characteristics of a true stout withe the dark chocolate and coffee bitterness with the smooth malt finish. Enjoyed sipping every last drop. By far my favorite beer from Lagunitas!
