COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Having downed his forth Imperial Stout of the day, the wild eyed charlatan from Voldvostogniaky belched and hollered for the Czarina to enter his chamber and bend herself to his will. The economy was a wreck and revolt was just around the corner. Nicky the Czar dude was off playing soldier like any pale nobleman with a hemorrhagic skin condition would. Such were the final days of the old empire. Reactionary, decadent, sputnik, stroganoff, weird, and drunk. But even as the proletariat countryside labored under inhuman conditions and a threat of being sent to a futile war in the east, they wisely took the time to slam back an Imperial Stout or two. After all, life can be a real "suka", as they say in the old country. Big, black, bourgeois, bolshoy, belligerent, buxom, and scary - this is our version of the chaotic end of an era in a bottle.

The aroma is strong, sweet, roasted coffee. Taste is bold in malty sweetness with a hint of hops. Tastes like smoked molasses.

Itís dark and thick like a good stout should be. Even the head tastes good. Like a good root beer float for grown-ups.

22 oz bottle from Whole Food Market in Hillsboro, OR. Initial nose is boozy and sweet. Mouthfeel is smooth and syrupy, and the mild carbonation paired with the bitterness from the hops adds a pleasant buzz on my tongue. Has notes of coffee and licorice. Taste is very sweet, but the heavy bitterness from the hops and roasty grains adds a great balance. Finishes slightly sour, but otherwise this is a perfect beer for my taste!

22oz bomber. I like this a lot. Had this at the end of a long, terrible day and it was exactly what I needed. Great flavor with notes of chocolate and burnt caramel. Pleasantly smooth.

Light tan head. Strong coffee aroma. Assertive coffee flavor with a rich earthy backbone. Finishes dry with lingering smokey and coffee aftertaste. Medium body.

Smells of roasted malts coco nibs or dark chocolate and deep dark roasted coffee. Nice deep dark hold black color. Taste is awesome starts off with a big heaping of roasted malts followed by a rich deep dark chocolate flavor then finishing off dry with strong dark roasted coffee almost esspresso like. Super smooth cream like finish that you donít get from a lot of imperial stouts with abv This high except a select few which I like to call the elite stouts. This has a full smooth body with light carbonation that goes flat but not till the very end. Love the flavor complexity of this stout one of my favorite goto I stout. Love all your brews donít ever stop your alchemy of what your doing. Beautiful brew.

Great flvor in this one. Not too bitter, not too watery. Just right. Pours jet black with a thin head mocha colored head. Mmmm, aroma of sweet chocolates, caramels, and roasted barley. I just love this beer, my favorite from Lagunitas and very under-rated here. The taste is what really hooked me here. It is so crisp, refreshing, yet bold, smokey, rich, and dark at the same time. A great summertime stout.
