3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber pours a very dark brown with lasting tan head and good lacing. Nose is full of roasted malts and hops. Aroma is not as hoppy as I first thought it would be, but has dark chocolate, toast, molasses, and coffee. Taste is slightly salty at first, then sweet, and finally a little drier and hotter in the finish. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Body is medium plus. without very much carbonation. Overall, this is a very good, somewhat unusual Imperial stout, which I think has 80% of the delights of the best ones at less than half of their price.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured into a snifter out of a 22oz bomber.
Pours a deep, pitch black similar to used motor oil with a fairly thin dark tan head. A fairly thick ring of lacing is left around the edge of the beer but nothing else.
Aroma is heavily roasted along with some soy sauce notes and plums. Some dark chocolate notes in there as well but not a ton of depth.
The flavor carries on the heavily roasted malt with some char and caramel. Less soy sauce notes thankfully but still not a ton of complexity. Some alcohol becomes apparent towards the finish along with a good bit of stickyness.
Overall, a decent imperial stout but far from the best I have had. There is just not a ton of depth here and i would expect more with this style and a beer of this strength. Probably won’t pick this one up again.

Pitch Black with a thin khaki colored head with a crimson tinge at the bottom. Aroma of chocolate malts, cherries, dark fruit notes, caramel and a hint of mocha. Flavor of chocolate, mocha, coffee, roasted malts and caramel. Very roasty aftertaste. Heavy body and and high carbonation. A bit roasty but decent.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from BrookFalls Discount. Pours a very dark brown with a tan head. Almost no lacing and a very lowly carbonated beverage. Aroma has sweet molasses and caramel, with some dark fruit. Taste is of heavy sweet caramel, molasses, and some fruits, with hints of chocolate and coffee. Medium bodied and a bit sticky. Finishes heavily to the sweet side of bittersweet. Had years ago, and thought it was a fair stout or a fair porter. It has not changed, and is still somewhere in that style range; likely too caramelly to be a porter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Paired with banana pancakes.... Uhhhh not the best choice probably.
Aroma is lighter with some coffee and vanilla notes. A little volatile acidity or something.
Appearance is ok. Looks a little thin for an imperial stout. Pours looking almost like a porter.
Exactly like the smell on the taste. Hints of coffee and vanilla with an acidic after bite. Not as acidic as others,.
Palate is ok. Heavy body but pretty aggressive.
This adds another to the list of stouts from California that are not so great. This is an ok beer but that acidity just isn’t to be found in other dark beers. I hear it has to do with the water. Basic water counters the acidity of the roasted malts. Idk

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very dark brown near black. Thick, frothy brown/tan head that holds nicely and leaves a decent lace behind. The aroma is cereal, oats, semi-sweet chocolate, and oatmeal. The smell is very appealing. first sip, right away you get that semi-sweet chocolate and cereal. Followed by a roasty, nutty flavor and a slight bitterness. Finishes very smooth with a bitter-sweet flavor. Alcohol very well hidden by this beers complexity. An awesome beer that I would recommend to any beer drinker and a must have for fans of imperial stouts.

22oz bomber. I like this a lot. Had this at the end of a long, terrible day and it was exactly what I needed. Great flavor with notes of chocolate and burnt caramel. Pleasantly smooth.

Cherry... Roastie...very bitter on the end. Good slickness on the mouth. The initial hit I get and the first half is good but then the bitterness that hits kind of brings down the finale of this beer... Decent...alright
