COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Having downed his forth Imperial Stout of the day, the wild eyed charlatan from Voldvostogniaky belched and hollered for the Czarina to enter his chamber and bend herself to his will. The economy was a wreck and revolt was just around the corner. Nicky the Czar dude was off playing soldier like any pale nobleman with a hemorrhagic skin condition would. Such were the final days of the old empire. Reactionary, decadent, sputnik, stroganoff, weird, and drunk. But even as the proletariat countryside labored under inhuman conditions and a threat of being sent to a futile war in the east, they wisely took the time to slam back an Imperial Stout or two. After all, life can be a real "suka", as they say in the old country. Big, black, bourgeois, bolshoy, belligerent, buxom, and scary - this is our version of the chaotic end of an era in a bottle.

Bomber pours a very dark brown with lasting tan head and good lacing. Nose is full of roasted malts and hops. Aroma is not as hoppy as I first thought it would be, but has dark chocolate, toast, molasses, and coffee. Taste is slightly salty at first, then sweet, and finally a little drier and hotter in the finish. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Body is medium plus. without very much carbonation. Overall, this is a very good, somewhat unusual Imperial stout, which I think has 80% of the delights of the best ones at less than half of their price.

Almost black pour with small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, slightly nutty. Taste of roasted malts, sweetened chocolate, coffee, lactose and faint hops on the finish. Full bodied, perfect carbonation and beautifully balanced. Great beer!

Bottled. Has a nice color. Small head. Has a decent sweet taste. Hint of chocalate and nuts. Not a extreme bold flavor but for the price it works. Decent imperial stout.

Pours dark, minimal head with long oily legs. Nose is Roast. Taste is Roast but without depth. Great brew though. As a vegan, it makes me want some brisket or ribs from any little joint along i59/69 between the Brazos and the Colorado. Who knew Lagunitas did malts?

Great readily available 10% imperial stout for under $5 a bomber. Not sure how you could go wrong. Deep black with an oily tan head that runs the glass. Black licorice, anise, coffee round out the pallet. Dry finish tannin like finish.

Pours a dark brown black with huge tan head.. Aroma is chocolate, Baileys. Taste follows the aroma with a nice hop kick to it. Medium to heavy mouth feel. Awesome stout and well priced!

Dumped into the Lagunitas jar (stolen from the local Mexican restaurant) this ’big, black, bourgeois, bolshoy, belligerent, buxom, and scary’ brew is certainly formidable at 9.9% ABV. Did he mean Bolshoi, as in the ballet, or Bolshevik as in Communist? Neither add anything to a deScription of this brew. And thus, more meaningless drunken drivel, of which, I personally am completely innocent. Well, anywho, I decided foolishly to retread a path taken mistakenly in my youth, more than once, and make some snakebites (hard cider and stout), Back then it was Guinness and Woodpecker, both low ABV ingredients which nevertheless had a mind boggling effect, since this combo is so tasty and drinkable. However, my 2015 ingredients were Lagunitas Imperial Stout and Citizen Unified Press Cider (9.9% and 6.8%) And thus. recently on a Sunday afternoon, watching my Patriots decimate the hapless Titans, I drank a few Snakebites, celebrated the victory and promptly slept through the 4 O’clock game. Woke myself up by snoring so loudly. I drank a similar (but milder) combo in Ennis, Ireland in 1980, during the Fleadh, Guinness and hard cider, when I broke a bone in my foot stepping into a rabbit hole while running across a lovely field campground to meet my girlfriend who had shouted across that she had found some hash... Umm. a review of the Imp Stout? Yeah, fine. Tasty, pretty much a deadly mix with anything, but quite fine on its own.

Deep, dark, imperial stout. No real hint of smoke (good) but the caramel is a little strong and the finish has just a hint of bite. A very good beer.

Pretty dark pour with minimal brown top. Aroma is expected bounty of roast, but not much more. Wow, this is tasty for one of my favorite styles! Sweet, dark chocolate flavors with some roast and chocolate make for a very pleasant sip all the way through. Finish is slightly dry, and happy to have more.
