This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you’re on.

Sampled at Real Beer Expo (Rochester). Bottle. Orange-amber colour, sl. haze and no head. Plenty of hops (citrus, floral) and a bit of caramelly hops. Med. carbonation and a decent body. Orange and citruy hops and some bitterness.

brewtopia 10/21/06 This was definitely a hop bomb. Aroma is strong, fresh hops. Taste is very hoppy and bitter with a faint amount of malt in the background.

Ughsmash (7086) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 19, 2006
Bottled. Poured medium orange with a whole helluva lot of sediment floating around in there. Aroma picked up orange zest, floral notes, and some extra-sweet caramel. Flavor had sticky caramel, toffee, and grapefruit at the core... citrus and floral hoppage around it, and moderate bitterness through the finish. Didn’t flow too well or impress me much on the finish. Just OK.

hazy copper color, earthy hops with a background of pine and sweet malt. good mouthfeel and finish. decent ipa, but nothing special.

bager (2121) - Copenhagen N, DENMARK - OCT 15, 2006
Bottled. Hazy brownish coloured with a medium sized head. A bit malty and sweet. Hoppy, piney and somewhat flowery. A bit too mild though.

Pretty red orange gold in color with a substantial big bubble head off white in color. Hops dominate the nose with sweet malt in the background (apricot orange) slightly floral as well. This beer is all about the hops everything else is second. I like the way they hit the midpalate firmly then slowly drift back and intensify in bitterness. There’s sweet malt again but very subtle, like plum syrup? The more this beer warms the more it’s fragrance resembles a pine cone which is basically what you could call it, fermented pinecone juice with plum syrup and it’s pretty damn tasty too.

hopscotch (8776) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 8, 2006
Bottle... Hazy amber ale with a large, rocky, off-white head. Good retention. The nose is more malty than hoppy with notes of caramel, biscuit and shortbread. Mildly bitter, black tea flavor. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Finishes tannic and dry. English IPA, I think.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden color with a nice size head that leaves a good amount of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and pine. Taste of hops with a slight hint of grapefruit and toffee. Finishes nicely with a bit of hop bitterness.

A light brown with maybe some reddish orange hints. Aroma was originally a little citrusy and then ended up florally by the end. The flavor was a little sweet and then just a lot of hoppiness. The bitterness on this was awesome too. I know this is in ipa but the body seemed a little thin. Good beer.
