Orangish red in color with a nice thick head. Lots of sediment. Smells hoppy. Tastes perfumey and bitter.

Poured a dark burnt orange color with a lot of yeasty sediment and a very frothy head that lasted the whole beer. A slight citrus aroma with hops over-riding. A bitter hop flavor and some malts. A good full mouthfeel. Great amount of carbonation. Nice overall.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Uglyradio (791) - Greenville, South Carolina, USA - MAR 18, 2003
Pours a slightly hazy copper color with particles floating throughout. The head is small, lingering, and white colored. It has a nice floral hop aroma with a touch of citrus and pine. Full body with moderate carbonation, the flavor is mostly hops with a bit of malt backbone. The finish is lingering and bitter. Nice IPA from Lagunitas.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (6033) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 12, 2003
From Hollingshead Deli in Orange, CA. Not a bad IPA at all. Pours a murky golden amber color with a thick off-white head. The foamy head lasted quite a while. Nice lacing as well. Floral hops aroma. Flavor is very citrusy, and the hops are really not as bold as the glass progresses. Nicely bitter finish. Doesn't have the "snap you with a wet towel" hops that the great IPAs have but otherwise this beer is just fine.

hazy golden with a big frothy white head. looks like a classic west coast IPA. Intensely bitter grapefruit nose. Clean and full in the mouth, taste cleans up like a pilsner only really bitter and woody.

Nice clean top shelf ipa. Not as good or hoppy as the maximus but can hold its own. Citrusy & resfreshing, another great wake-up in the morning beer.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Braudog (5025) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - MAR 3, 2003
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2007 Light, shiny amber orange beer with a big ol’ poofy head. The aroma is full of essence, malty yet citricly inviting. Very nicely pronounced grapefruit hop tones with a resiny feel and a sweet finish over the tongue. Very, very good.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Drew (2413) - Kent, Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2003
Big fluffy head and thick sheets of lace topped off this glorious golden nectar. First the malt - yep, there's some in here, showing up in the thin stream of sweetness down the center of my tongue. The citrus/fruit aroma carries thru to the resiny hops full of thick grapefruit juice - I was surprised at how hoppy it seemed when the bottle lists 44 IBU. This would be perfect for a summertime picnic
