decent, the malts are nice but the hops kinda fall flat which is what they wanted to go on. still its some malts character with caramel flavor. enjoyable.

Pour is amber, piney aroma that is the high point of this beer, after the first sip the beer becomes an amber ale, sweet and malty with a light hop flavor. relatively heavy mouthfeel

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is medium golden with long lasting white fluffy head. Aroma is of fresh crisp hops and some pine. Flavor is up front hoppy with some malt aftertaste. Iím guessing that with all of the different hops and malts used in this, it must have been made with all of the extra ingredients from the brewery. I canít see a reason to add that many ingredients to a beer. There is no possible way for someone to distinguish each flavor in the beer. It is actually a physical impossibility because our tongue is not that sensitive. Still a good beer. May buy again.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2008 A decent IPA. The aroma is really grassy even for an IPA. Overall I enjoyed it, but it didnít have the fully rounded taste that other IPAs like Stoneís has. A pretty plain, average IPA. Iíll probably stick to Stone and Dogfish Head.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear light amber body with a short lived tan head. Not a pronounced aroma but a nice one. It is full of hop with pine and floral notes along with some caramel malt. A big tart hop bite nips the back of the throat at first sip but that quickly fades to a dry bitterness. Grapefruit, grass and floral flavors. 108 varieties of hop and malt?! A good IPA but not quite exceptional.

Lagunitas ipa is opaque amber in color and when poured into a shaker, yeilds a thick foamy head. It has scents of pine and citrus that entice your tongue. Once you finally taste it you find that the hops have a nice bitterness to them which continue to follow into the aftertaste. I am still new to reviewing beers but i found this to be one of the best ipaís i have tried so far.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aggressive pour left a three-finger head above an orange/amber body with lots of rising carbonation. Moderate pine and citrus - grapefruit - hops aromas, but not overpowering. Hops flavors are strong, but immediately countered by a light maltiness. Hops bitterness lingers in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, less carbonation than expected.

Bottle. Light amber coloured with a nice lasting white head. Aromas of pine, grapefruit and some sweet malt. Flavour of bitter hops, caramel and more hops.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2010 Orange-blonde with a thick rocky head. Aromas of citron, pine and spices. Snappy bitter flavor. Very fizzy on the palate. This has been a go-to session beer for me for a while. One of the best Bay Area IPAs for sure.
