3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Taken from notes made during a business trip to San Francisco: Pours reddish golden with initially frothy and quickly diminishing head. Aroma is flowery/herbal but also sweet malt. Flavor is all malt with a solid hop presence. MIldly bitter finish but has a lingering taste. Not the best IPA but good overall. Needs more hops!
Well, I wish I had made better notes but I was kind of unprepared. I do not recall it being remarkable in the least.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured an orange color with little head.. Citrus hoppy aroma. Flavor is of citrusy hops with a little malt.. This one would be better with more hops. Not bad but not great..

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 30, 2009 Very tasty IPA, very well done, deep copper color with a slight orange tint, decent sized off-white head, sticky lacing around the glass, lots of earthy hops in the nose, medium body, very drinkable, great session beer, very well balanced, good malt profile to back up the hops, some notes of pine & earth in the flavors, very dry & bitter, especially in the finish and aftertaste, very good IPA

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a golden orange, white bubbly head. Aroma is citrus fruits, hops. Flavor is "easy" and balanced, a piney hop flavor with mint, and lemon. Palate is somewhat smooth and malty. Thanks to Mitch for this Brew, my 300th on RateBeer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hop nose, spicy flavor and medium body. Scores good on the standard India Pale Ale "checklist". With "43 different hops and 65 various malts" I think the brewer worked too hard on an above average IPA.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: FEB 14, 2007 2004 bottle purchased at Julioís in Westboro, MA. For good old pasteurised, heavily filtered Lagunitas, I will have to give some credit here. First of all, they knew what they wanted. They wanted to expand the market and send a good beer from west to east coast. Thatís cool, and is impressive that they distribute out here in the weak Boston market. Anyways, they pay the price. Itís just a plain filtered golden ale. Hops in the nose recommend that you smell deeper, but itís nothing heavy. Just some moderate hops, no dry hopping it seems. Anyways, it has good flavor, which is probably its best character. Medium body, good malt presence. Spicy, but not really bitter. Light caramel.
2006 bottle. ended up dumping it. Just blandly boring. Cheaply sweet, filtered maltiness is extremely uncomplex. Loose, forced carbonation and a boring c-hop aroma and flavor. Not attenuated enough either. Slight acid on the end.
More simple, bland crap for the palate-lacking from Lagunitas.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A very good IPA. A little malty. Gold colour and good head. Hops are present in the aroma and the flavour in respectable amounts.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The label describes this beer as an assault of hops. I didnít find this description to be accurate. Yes there are hops but Iím dropping the assault charges. First, it pours a clear copper color with a decent sized white head. The aroma is hard to come by, with faint scents of citrus (mostly grapefruit) and some pine. Medium bodied with creamy malt flavors. This creamy smoothness is overwhelmed by a moderate hop presence in the finish. Thereís a gentle lingering presence of hops after each sip.
I enjoyed the smoothness of this beer but I was expecting a better hit of hops out of this one.
