This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you’re on.

Poured deep copper with a frothy, creamy white head. Aroma was piney. Flavor was piney with grapefruit, orange and caramel notes. The hop flavors were very present, although mellow and now reading that there are 43 different ones in there that’s impressive. Slight bitterness comes through in the end. Medium bodied. Very smooth and drinkable. Very well balanced. This is a nice IPA.

Bottle. Pours nice golden orange color with a medium white head. Initial aroma that hits me is of pine hops. Upon closer inspection I get some grapefruit as well. Taste is sweet and not as hoppy as I would’ve thought, somewhat flowery and grapefruity. The hops seem a little muted from some candy like sweetness. The finish has a little malt and a little bitterness.

Bottle. A hazy copper pour with lots of little floaties and a smallish light-tan head that leaves rings of lace. Typical IPA aroma profile with lots of oranges and some grapefruits. Quite floral. Medium body. A good bit of sweet caramel and cream upfront keep this from being overly one-sided. Pretty well-balanced actually. A drying, bitter finish that lingers. Pretty standard IPA.

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2006 From bottle. Hearty orange amber pour with an even, medium off-white head. Cleansing fresh aroma of grapfruit citrus and orchid blossoms, all balanced by a semi-sweet brown sugar and prune maltiness. Smooth, slightly creamy texture that slides across the tongue delicately, rather than pierce it brutally with its hoppy talons. The hops take hold of the palate at first, allowing a soft white grapefruit to scrub the tongue clean. From there, this brew’s softer side takes over, allowing some flavors of wheat toast and raisin to enter the picture. Final smack of delicate grapefruit rind.

12 oz Bottle: Quite good. Almost exactly what I would describe an IPA as. Not that it was outstanding or amazing, just a perfect model for what I expect and imagine when I hear the word IPA. That knocks my overall score a little higher, but so what. And to read 43 hops and 65 malts is impressive!

Citrus and hop aroma, copper in color, white head, flavor is of grass, hop, and barely any malt. Weird finish and aftertaste, almost like what i would imagine eating flour or baking soda would taste like. Odd texture left on my tongue. Thoroughly disappointing.

Pours a light reddish-orange color with a thick white head. Aroma is of hops, citrus (mostly grapefruit), and some floral hints. Flavor starts off with citrus, mostly orange and some grapefruit. One of the most citrusy IPA’s I’ve had to date. Finishes with a little hops but not too much. The citrus almost overpowers the hops too much but is still a good IPA.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2014 Pours and clear orange gold with a decent white head that dissapears quikly and leaves nice lacing. Bottle conditioned? Lots of sediment swimming throughout this brew. Aroma is hoppy and some citrus with oranges as well. Also some light spices picked up. Flavor is much the same with a nice initial hoppy bite. Ends bitter. A solid IPA but nothing spectacular.

Clear copper. Modest, frothy, white head. Aroma of big resiny grapefruit hops with a bit pine, also. Same flavor with just enough malt. They could have made a brew that tasted identical with a lot less ingredients. Smooth, medium/light body is a little thin. Solid IPA.

Very tasty IPA. Full of hop flavor, citrus, caramels, and a slight spiceness reminicent of nutmeg. Nothing out of the ordinary here, just a solid IPA.
