COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you’re on.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2012 bottle. Hazy copper pour with a receding head. The aroma is nice. Very spicy with pine notes throughtout and some grapefruit, solid for the style. Obviously an IPA in the flavorAll of the characteristics present boldly scream india pale ale: pine, grapefruit, caramel. The problem is lack of balance. The hops come across as semi-chalky and the malts could stand to be more robust. Definitely a textbook ipa, but does not come across as anything that exceeds par for the course.

Pint from draft at Acoustic Coffeehouse. Sometimes I look at my very early ratings and wonder what my problem was. This is an outstanding IPA. I’m very excited to see it in my local market. The hop character is very dank and potent with lots of grassy and grapefruity notes. Body is great for the style: not too sticky, but not wimpy either. It doesn’t infringe on the hop flavor. This is an above average IPA which makes for a seriously delicious beer.

Solid IPA. Aroma isn’t much, and the taste is fairly standard, but has a nice hoppy finish.

A surprising and unfortunately average offering from Lagunitas. Looks and smells like an IPA, but the taste is flat. Enjoyably hoppy, but flat.

Average for the style in my tasting so far. Sometimes these IPA’s work in the sixer variety and this is one of those beers. Enjoyable, but not slap your momma great lik the Hop Ottin.,

Pours dark amber with a large head. Fresh citrus and hops are the predominate aroma. Nice amount of hops, for an IPA. Not too dominate but, a significant part of the flavor profile.

This is a nice hoppy beer. The aroma was floral. I like the crispness this beer had. I am going be enjoying this, this summer.

Draft at San Diego Brewing Company. Dark amber color with a decent head. Aromas were minimal, with some floralish hints. Flavors were slightly better. Hops were there, but not much in the way of a malt backbone. OK, but not great.

Intense fruity aroma. semi fruity flavor but lacked fullness. Something just made it not feel like an ipa. But it was still pleasant. Nice summer beer.

Pours rich golden with good carbonation. Aroma is intense hops with fruity and floral bouquet. Initial flavor is very balanced, with the hops eventually overpowering the rich malt. Finishes with a lingering bitterness, but overall is VERY smooth for an IPA.
