This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet youíre on.

Ubiquitos... 22Oz Burnished gold with some orange highlights. with a medium off white head which settles to a thin film Nose: Grapefruit, some floral notes, nice malt from light caramel to toasty notes... some soft fruits and a little alcohol as the beer warms up Taste: Nicely opens top note of resiny hop bite followed by toasty and slightly honeyed malts with a nicely spicy firm hop flavor... to finish dry with layers of hop flavors Overall: One of the original west coast IPAs. Still very well made has that somewhat elusive quality of being balanced yet hoppy... Seems like Lagunitas is on the wagon with bottle conditioning this IPA

(Bottle) Pours a copper color with a nice lasting head. Balanced IPA taste. Some pine and citrus can be tasted in here. Nice full mouthfeel. Itís a decent IPA, but nothing spectacular.

An evening of Superbowl Party and many IPAs! This one was a solid hit, big and bitter, decent malt as well. My pick over Brooklyn brewery, but just behind Winterfish.

Pale orange/amber with an originally good, yellowish head, slightly irregular. Very grapey, slightly resiny, typical USA-hops nose. I donít know if it are really 43 kinds, but theyíre good. (Quite) a bit of cakey malts, and some orangepeel-oils or mandarinepeel-oils, apart from the terpenes. Ends a bit soapy, in a good way. Dry bitterish taste, superposed on quite a lot of caramelly malts, sweet, but step by step the bitterness of the hopoils overwhelm. It halts just the right side of becoming metallic, but a kind of galvanic sour-e-rish taste is there. The balance is near 100% perfect. Slightly sharp, bit oily slickness, medium bodied. One of the best West Coast IPAís Iíve ever had, and one of the, if not the best balanced. Big thanks to J. for this unexpected gift!

Orangy amber pour with a big foamy orange tan head. Lemony piney hop aroma with a hint of roasted malt. Decent citrusy bitterness, with a bit of peppery hop spice, some roasty malts, and a hint of caramel flavor. Palate is medium, dry, resiny, and lightly bitter. Nice and refreshing ipa, but a bit unfocused.

Amber in colour with medium carbonation. Well focused C-hop aromas of lemon, grapefruit, pine, and black pepper, along with an undercurrent of slightly sweet pale malt. Hoppy upfront in the mouth with more of the typical C-hop notes. Thereís also some nice green grass and mint character too. A classy Maris Otter type malt element dries out with a long pine finish. Nothing too surprising here, but very well executed. Thanks to presario for the sample.

hazy orange with some sediment, nice amount of white foamy head, good hops nose, not overwhelming, but nice, very citrus, crisp body, with a nice balance of malts to combat the strong hop quality, nice session IPA

Hazy copper color with a thick, lasting head. Sweet orange citrus and malt aroma. Citrus hops nicely balanced with the malt. Finishes with a hit of piney bitterness. Nice medium body. A pretty straightforward IPA but very good.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2011 very grassy and resiny hops in this one. very flavorful and zesty on the tongue with a moderate but assertive bitter finish. sweetness in the flavor but it compliments the rest very well, this is a very balanced IPA, bold and nice flavors while still being pretty easy drinking, having a smaller body than something like a SN torpedo. in this case itís a good thing. as long as you can find it fresh this one is a definite winner
