COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you’re on.

Amber pour with a white head. Aromas of citrus hops all the way. Grapefruit, mango, orange, etc. Flavor is hoppy upfront but balanced by a nice malt presence in the finish. Solid offering.

Crisp, refreshing, and hoppy. Pours crystal clear amber. citrus and grapefruit aroma. Sweet but simple malt, with hops prominently featured from start to finish. Very dry, very clean. This is a solid IPA

TET (1570) - FINLAND - JUN 28, 2014
A dark yellow beer with a medium and blond head. The nose is full of fructose and tropical fruits, peaches and mangos, some mandarin, fresh even the sweetness. Taste isn’t so fruitfull than aroma, peaches and citrusfruits. Lots of pine needles that are drying the taste together with medium bitterness and the aftertaste is piney. Medium bodied, fresh and light to drink despites of bitterness. Balanced and easy IPA.

Lagunitas IPA readily deploys several hop varieties but at just over 50 IBU’s it may not be the hop bomb you’re expecting. In fact, this ale is fairly reserved for an offering from Lagunitas. That’s not to say that this IPA is a lightweight, though. Not by any means. IPA offers a whole lot of grassy, earthy, spicy, peppery tones. On the fruit spectrum, you can expect lemon, berry, and (no surprise) grapefruit. I should add that the malt backbone is fairly strong, too - it imparts a nice, subtle biscuit flavor. In all, I was pleasantly surprised to find this IPA to be more complex than bitter. While it’s not as brisk as some of the other West Coast hoppy ales that I love so much, the freshness is fantastic and there’s always a new flavor to discover. Once again, Lagunitas does things right.

Pours a clear straw gold with three fingers of fluffy head on a moderately aggressive pour, good retention and moderate sticky lacing. Nose is light - pine and floral hop, and sweet malt in the background. Taste is pleasantly bitter up front, followed by sweet malt. Mouth feel tends to the light, with light sustained carbonation. Decent IPA without the emphatic presence of their higher ABV products like Maximus, Little Sumpin, or Hop Stoopid, but still possessing sufficent hops to keep me interested. Fairly sessionable, actually, with a decent bitter finish.

Bottle. A: Light copper color with a white foamy head. Good lacing. N: Leaves and grass, pine, earth, citrus - mostly grapefruit. T: Good bitterness, some crackery malt. M: Medium body, slight resins. Very dry. O: The dudes at Lagunitas know what they’re doing with the hops. While I much prefer Little Sumpin’ Sumpin in the IPA category, this is a pleasing sit-down beer.

(Draught at Wirströms Pub, Stockholm). Scent of lightly overripe, slightly stale, tropical fruits, flowers and sweet raisins. Taste of sweet tropical fruit, pine and citrus, dry bitterness in the finish. (Bottle). 737313

On-tap at the local BWW. This pours a clear, golden amber color with a big foamy head. The aroma is bitter with hops. The taste is smooth, well-balanced and still nicely bitter.
