This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you’re on.

Bottle. Clear gold with hefty white, frothy head. Aroma is citrus and pine. Medium carbonation. Taste is fruity and moderately sweet, which nicely balances the bitterness of the hops. Crisp and refreshing without being overly bitter. Very enjoyable.

Pours a pale orange with a nice white head. Head retention is good. AROMA: herbal/floral hops, tropical fruit, tangerines, citrus, caramel, sweet hops, orange, passion fruit, spruce, pine bitterness and malt. TASTE: sweet herbal hops, citrus, passion fruit, malt, hop bitterness, orange, orange/tangerines, spices, pink peppercorns, light spruce, yellow grape acid and caramel. Amazing IPA with an abundant amount of complex, pleasant and savory flavors and aromas that’s also readily available. Will definitely enjoy my 6 pack of these brews throughout the next few days.

Pours relatively clear, some particles flowing around. Aroma is typical Lagunitas, nice enough hop profile, just to close to their pale ale i feel. Taste confirms my thoughts. It´s just to little difference between their pale ale and this offering to warrant a "different" beer on the shelf! Want more than new dog pale ale, just get Maximus! Bottle from SB

Bottle to tumbler. Amber, clear, small head. Weak aroma, fruit barely noticeable although on tap I remember more complex aroma and taste. Fairly drinkable but boring compared to other solid CA IPAs. This one definitely loses something in the bottle.

This has a nice color and a nice initial taste. Then the citrus hits and the bitterness comes on strong. A little off for me, but not bad.

On tap at Beertemple, Amsterdam. Body is clear golden, head is medium, white, rocky, average lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is light tropical fruits, flavor is fruity, orange peel, resin. Medium sweet, light bitter. Finish is medium lasting light hoppy bittersweet. Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation. Easy, refreshing, less hoppy than Lagunitas pale ale, or mixed up in the pub, good though.
