This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you’re on.

On Draught
Pours a pale golden color with a good head and good lacing on the glass.

The aroma holds a nice grapefruit character with some dank hops and a little pine. It’s grassy, it’s aromatic, it’s totally focused around hops, and a multidimensional presentation of hop character.

The flavor is piney with some melon and peppery notes. It’s fairly dry and as it warms the flavor moves into more of a grass and grapefruit thing. Either way it’s a very nice presentation of fresh happiness.

Cool that it’s around here these days.

Draft @ SJC Marriott. Hoppy, citrus aroma. Nice clear golden color with lingering white head. Wonderful flavor of citrus & malt. Perfect body, med to full. Easy drinking beer, not to filling to drink.

Pale amber with white lacing head. Aroma of pine and citrus. Complex flavor, a little sweetness, more citrus, and a mildly bitter finish.

Aside from having dozens of different hops and dozens of different malts, it’s a good drinking IPA. Clean aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Some mild sweetness. Flavor follows with grapefruit on top and citrus. There’s some sweet finish but not a ton. It’s pretty nice drinking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at Euston Tap, Euston. Clear gold with some head & lacing. Massive carbonation. Complex aroma of lemon peel, pine, caramelised vanilla, spruce. Intense bittersweet taste tempered by an herby/umami note. Sweetness in the finish, with a slightly medicinal bittersweet finish. The carbonation supports the medium body. A lovely classic IPA. Aromatic rather than bitter-as-hell, this is a proper US beer!

Crystal clear deep golden color. Aroma tropical flowers, pine, resin. Classic west coast IPA. On top of a slight cracker bread crust. Med mouth feel. Bright C hops orange peel, dank resinous tropical grapefruit overtop a thin sweet malt base. Finishes dry with slight furry tongue.

Goûtée un soir au coin du feu dans Yosemite. Bref, une bonne manière de la déguster. Couleur ambrée, belle mousse. Une IPA assez bien équilibrée, pas trop houblonnée et assez rafraîchissante.

Transfer from BA review on 4-2-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a hazy golden amber color with a one finger white head. The head has a moderate level of retention, fading over time to give a good level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is big and bold of the citrus hop smells. A large grapefruit hop smell is the heaviest and is mixed with some orange and lemon smells. Mixed with these are some smells of tropical fruits of mango and pineapple as well as smells of a bready and malty nature. Taste – The taste begins with a moderately malty and bready flavor mixed with a good dose of grapefruit hop. Upfront there is a decent caramel sweetness mixed with the hop and malt. As the taste advances the grapefruit hop bitters more in nature as some of the caramel gets lighter and the grapefruit gets a bit more intense. Toward the end some piney hop flavors bring another hop dimension to the beer and mix with a lighter tropical fruit flavor of mango and pineapple as well as the stronger grapefruit and bready flavors to leave a nice bitter but not overly bitter flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average to just above average side in terms of its creaminess and thickness with a carbonation level that is a bit on the lower to average side. Both the slightly thicker body and slightly lower carbonation suit the hop flavors well, but still allow the sweeter flavors to be detected and help balance out the malty and hoppy flavors. Overall – A tasty IPA that is fairly easy drinking without any one aspect being too overpowering producing a fairly well balanced brew.
