This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet youíre on.

Draft. Clear amber with a good frothy head. Fruity. Juicy. Loads of citrus. Maybe a little Floral. Moderate bitter that doesnít overly linger. Hops are showcased but enough malt backing to keep a really Nice balance overall. Pink grapefruit. Mango. Peach. Tangerines. Pineapple. Really liked this. Super good.

Bottle from Petaluma Market. Golden brown, lively looking beer. Aroma is of peach, pine and some honey. Taste is medium bitter for an IPA, tropical fruits hit the senses pretty quickly. Itís tasty, itís pretty smooth but itís not a world beater. Tasty stuff nevertheless and pretty refreshing.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with minimal head and average lacing. Aroma is typical IPA with citrus and pine notes. Flavor is not as pronounced as the aroma. A little spice, honey, citrus, and pine. Very smooth and drinkable. Good but not great.

Mild citrus, mango, pineapple, some grapefruit. Taste is very balanced and mellowed out, no prominent maltbody whatsoever. Straight up hop juice, not very bitter.

Bedankt broertje! Helder oranje-amberkleurig bier met vlokjes gist en wie kraag. Geweldige geur van lychee en meloen. Smaakt ook erg goed, heerlijk fruitig en mooi bitter. Goede body en carbo. Top IPA!

the lightly bitter start breaks off into a fairly alcoholic taste. It has strong pine flavor. Itís not really bad, but I wouldnít get it again.

Amber pour with a white head. Aromas of citrus hops all the way. Grapefruit, mango, orange, etc. Flavor is hoppy upfront but balanced by a nice malt presence in the finish. Solid offering.

Crisp, refreshing, and hoppy. Pours crystal clear amber. citrus and grapefruit aroma. Sweet but simple malt, with hops prominently featured from start to finish. Very dry, very clean. This is a solid IPA

A dark yellow beer with a medium and blond head. The nose is full of fructose and tropical fruits, peaches and mangos, some mandarin, fresh even the sweetness. Taste isnít so fruitfull than aroma, peaches and citrusfruits. Lots of pine needles that are drying the taste together with medium bitterness and the aftertaste is piney. Medium bodied, fresh and light to drink despites of bitterness. Balanced and easy IPA.

Lagunitas IPA readily deploys several hop varieties but at just over 50 IBUís it may not be the hop bomb youíre expecting. In fact, this ale is fairly reserved for an offering from Lagunitas. Thatís not to say that this IPA is a lightweight, though. Not by any means. IPA offers a whole lot of grassy, earthy, spicy, peppery tones. On the fruit spectrum, you can expect lemon, berry, and (no surprise) grapefruit. I should add that the malt backbone is fairly strong, too - it imparts a nice, subtle biscuit flavor. In all, I was pleasantly surprised to find this IPA to be more complex than bitter. While itís not as brisk as some of the other West Coast hoppy ales that I love so much, the freshness is fantastic and thereís always a new flavor to discover. Once again, Lagunitas does things right.
