COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you’re on.

For some strange reason this is the first time I’ve ever had this beer. I love Lagunitas for their west coast style IPAs and was expecting their flagship IPA to be of the same quality. This is definitely good, but it’s missing the bright, popping citrus and tropical flavors I’ve come to know this brewery by. Definitely more malty than I am used to, but good in it’s own way, and has a nice hop presence in the background and mild bitterness in the after taste.

Bottle. Copper color with thin thick whit head. Heavy hop aroma. Caramel and sweet toasted malt up front. Peppery finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lite mindre fruktig och fräsch än andra från Lagunitas. God, men inte den bästa från bryggeriet.

Draft at the Chicago brewery, waiting for the tour. Best part of any brewery tour: complimentary product! In the generous taster glass, it shows more orange than the Dogtown I had before this, with a thin head. Aroma is hoppy, but easy to take. What should I have expected but a big, hoppy West Coast taste, solid right up the middle.

Poured from a bottle, clear honey orange. Light and citrusey on the nose. Define orange hit followed with a lite Granny Smith apple finish. If I had to, I’d call it a sunny IPA. Not quote sessionable, but deceptive enough to leave you pleasantly tipsy.

Pint at euston tap, London. Lovely dry IPA, not my favouite IPa as it felt lacking in flavour but certainly good on the hoppyness sie of things

Couple of bottles of this drunk at the Fat Cat, Ipswich. Pours a clear amber/gold colour, with a decent white head. Sweet, moderately hoppy aroma with citrus notes. Some bitterness to finish. OK but expected there to be something more to it.

Bottle at Moon Under Water, Balham Spoons. It pours clear orange with a decent white head. The nose is fresh, juicy orange, tangerine, papaya, marmalade, biscuit and piney resin. The taste is crisp, bitter, piney, resin, toasty, straw, orange and tangerine peel with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Crisp and very drinkable. A classic and great addition to the spoons line-up.

Bottle: Pours clear amber with a tall beige head. Scent is citrus, orange-peel. Taste is orange-peel, resiny hops. Pretty good sweet vs. bitter going on...although the hops get a little heavy and murky towards the finish.

Poured a 12oz brown bottle into Spieglau IPA glass. It poured a clear light orange amber colour with white foam, lasting with lace. Powerful American hoppy aroma: grapefruit, pine cones, spruce tips, blackcurrant fruit, honey, grass, weeds. Flavour wasn’t as bitter as expected, some mild caramelly malt sweetness underneath, loads of hoppy flavour to match aromas. Lingering citrusy aftertaste, tangy but not puckering. Body and mouthfeel a bit bland, but it works to spotlight the hops. Tasty and refreshing, similar to countless other A-IPAs but well-crafted nonetheless.

Poured from a bottle. Nice frothy head that dissipates quickly, but leaves a decent lacing around the glass. Slightly dark golden clear color. Aroma is grassy, piney, and hops. Smooth, almost creamy going down, some citrus in the back of the tongue. Good refreshing beer, my first from this company.
