COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you’re on.

I know people really like this but I thought it was way too hoppy. But, that’s just my opinion! Love the bottle though.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Straight from the bottle by the campfire. Smells of pine. Taste is stronger pine. Yep, it’s an IPA, and a pretty hoppy one, even by IPA standards. It’s OK, but not my preferred style.

Draft at BWW. Nose is light citrus like lemon and orange. Light flower. Clear pale gold. White head laces grate. Taste is less hop forward but very drinkable. Like a hoppy cream ale. Leg might be old. Nice.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2016 Can from Tesco: Faint floral and citrusy aroma. Light, clean, translucent amber with a soft white head. Tastes of pine, citrus, maybe fruit. Very lightly bitter and the bitterness doesn’t linger much. Not very much hop character. Another simple staple. *** Much better on tap (at the Maypole, Cambridge, UK). Has much more flavor - a nice fruity kick.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2016 On tap is a very different experience from a 355 ml bottle (much better on tap). Nice clear golden amber color with a decent white, creamy head. Citrus notes on the tongue, sour to bitter finish.

Orange peel and pine needles in a blender. Harsh bitterness, sticky sweet and more orange peel, from an old orange you found in the fridge.

The beer pours a translucent golden orange with a thick generous frothy off-white head which lingers. The aroma is pine, citrus, and biscuity malts. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour has tropical fruit notes, some definite citrusy hops, and those are rounded out with a nice malt tone. Well balanced flavours, and refreshing. Wish it was a permanent fixture.

355ml bottle. Fairly clear (looks like some fine sediment floating) amber-orange colour, two-finger white head, some lacing, good retention. Fresh hoppy aroma, citrus, orange zest. Slightly sweet fruity hoppy flavours, orange zest, lemon, mango, grapefruit, some malt but quite subtle, feels quite well balanced though. Dry and crisp. Long bitter finish.

Draft at some random Irish pub somewhere in North South Boston. Despite being served in a frozen glass it's got an orange tint and an inch of white foam though it's hard to estimate how much the bartender poured down the drain to get there. Solid leafy pine notes on the nose. Solid pine on the tongue. Finished clean. Not my fave but bumping my score up some to compensate for the suboptimal conditions. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
