Bottle purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours clear orange with an average, rocky, off-white head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, cereal), heavy hops (perfume, pine, grapefruit), light yeast (sweat) with notes of light alcohol. Medium bodied, alcoholic texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle… Clear golden ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Earthy, evergreen and tree bark nose; smells a bit like a PNW forest floor, but better? Pale malt sweetness in step with perfect bitterness and a rumor of acidity provide excellent balance. Full-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Crisp, lightly bitter finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks acknud...this beer is smooth and really damn good. Pours a golden color wtih a thin but foamy white head. Aroma is hoppy but also ciderish. Flavor is malty, almost like a boddingtons with a great hop bite. A little more hops and this would be world class!!!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle. Poured a medium and clear golden color with an averaged sized head. Aromas of pine, citrus, and floral. Tastes of oranges, caramel, and grapefruit. The aroma is all about hops with the tastes being somewhat balanced. Thinner body. Alcohol content well hidden.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This bomber is for sharing and was aged about a year in my cellar. A very hoppy beer, hoppy but balanced aroma, great head with lace. This doubles up to soften the mouthfeel and the hop lead bitterness and mintiness stays on the palate in the finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 21, 2007 22 oz bomber. Very pale golden beer. Crystal clear with a sticky white head. The aroma is fruity and fresh with loads of tangerine and grapefruit with a soft resinous piny character. A bit of lean crisp maltiness but the hops are the most expressive component of this brew. Moderate bitterness but loads of fresh grapefruit and tangerine hop flavour. Soft pithy bitterness. Nice straight-forward west coast IPA.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This brew is a clear golden color with tiny rising bubbles and a thick and fluffy off-white head that dissipates slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Lots of grapefruit in the aroma, along with some hops and caramel malt. Medium-bodied with a strong citrus character, mostly grapefruit. Touches of piney hops and malt as well. The finish is lemony hops with a touch of sweetness. An interesting beer that tastes like a cross between an IPA and an Imperial Pilsener. I would try this again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance is honey gold and clear, with a small white or off-white head. Nose is heavy on the dry pine nut hops (seriously, what hops are used? It’s pointless to make an IPA without listing the hops), some dry peach rind shows up as well, especially strong in the nose. Overall it lacks the fruitiness and “dankness” I expect in good IPA, instead it’s almost completely made up of pine nuts and dry, aged pine wood. Ok to good overall, but for IPA it lacks a lot.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 2, 2007 Rerate 10/2. I’m kicking this one down a bit because the palate heft, complexity, and taste didn’t seem to hold up as well when I let one warm up a little. Still very good, but not quite as good as I rated it initially.
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours hazy medium copper with 1-finger off-white head and a lot of carbonation streams. Aroma is heavy dry hops, black pepper, tangerine, pineapple, mango, caramel malt. Smooth, crisp, very dry hoppy taste, with notes of black pepper, pineapple, and tangerine throughout. I enjoyed this one, and look forward to having another this evening. Well done.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2008-06-16. Bottle. Golden yellow body, smallish white head. Sweet aroma has a light fragrant flower character to it, with and odd spice presence - the cobination reminds me of scented soaps from Grandma’s bathroom for some reason. Strange, but not unpleasant (6+). Flavour has similar moderate floral and spice overtones, in a muted flavour of sweet pale malt. Average palate. Decent but the floral and spice is what I find most prominent and I do not particularly care for it. [Post rating note - this is an IPA????? We have a second bottle, perhaps I will see how that one fares.] Bottle courtesy of trade with sdbruboy.
