Jan 2, 2009 Lagunitas Lucky 13 is a hazy red-amber ale with small particles floating in it. It has a foamy, eggy, pale yellow head that has good retention and leaves nice lacing. The aroma is of strong, sweet malt. There are notes of resin and herb and a faint hint of cinnamon. It’s pretty full bodied, smooth and syrupy. The finish is slightly gritty. The flavor is quite sweet. The bitterness is pretty good, so it balances it out. The aftertaste is long and sweet. It’s a little sweet for my taste, but it’s solid and good for sipping.

Dec 28, 2008 650 ml brown bottle. The beer is red brown in colour, it poured with a lovely creamy and rocky head. Awesome lacing and rings left behind in my glass. Malt aroma with PNW citrusy hop aroma, sweet and zesty. Robust malt flavour. Nutty notes, toffee sweetness, citrus hop accents, grapefruit and lemon hop bitterenss with some dry malt lingering in the finish. Medium body, mild carboantion. Great ASA with high drinkablility. Dec 24, 2008 Ruby red with a slight head. Alcohol from smell to finish taste but not totaly overwhelming booze flavor. Nice medium carbonation with som straight out hops provide a zest flavor. All of this on a carmel type malt base. Just not my favorite style.

Dec 21, 2008 bomber. pours a deep red with a good size white head... nice lacing throughout. citrus hop aroma with some caramel as well. really nice body, soft and full on the bottom and sides, while light and whispy on the top. the citrus hops shine through all the way down ... while some grapefruit and caramel come through as well. overall a really nice beer from Lagunitas... and a very nice price as usual.

Dec 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours an amber body with a light tan head. Sweet with caramel and citrus fruit, alcohol latent pine and grapefruit. Hop resins and a dry but chewy finish.

Dec 13, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium off white head and minimal lacing. The aroma has caramel malt and more importantly, a nice collection of hop scents such as pine, citrus, and grass. The flavor was representative of the aroma. More caramel and toffee maltiness with the same hop profile. I liked this, but found myself wanting a little more and not getting it. Medium bodied with no real sign of the alcohol.

Dec 9, 2008 Poured a dark brown/red with a thin off-white head. Aromas of fruit punch malts and some hops. Taste had more hops than the aroma hinted at. A light Carmel malt undertone makes for a nice balance. Floral and grapefruit notes also present. Finish was nice and smooth. Great!
