Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 14, 2007 Bottle drunk 6/4. Amber color with fluffy head. Hoppy, malty, milky aroma. Smooth hoppy, malty taste with hoppy finish. GuilTTy (527), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Sep 13, 2007 Bomber from Canal’s in Berlin NJ. Clear dark cherrywood pour under a medium light khaki head. Pretty nice lacing. Sweet aroma with notes of toffee, brown sugar, and a hint of pepper. Primarily malty flavor but with a couple stiff hop rails keeping the sweet flavors of caramel, butterscotch and milk chocolate driving towards an longish sweet but somewhat dry and hoppy finish. Beerlando (2284), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 10, 2007 Fairly clear, reddish amber body. Small tan head that settles to a thin film with little lilly pads of foam. Nice lacing noted all the way down the glass. The aroma shows big time buttery caramel and toffee malts, with ample orange citrus hops. The flavor explodes into huge malt right off the bat. Very big buttery toffee flavors blend well with citrus and pine hops. Excellent balance and very smooth. The body is on the heavy side of medium, and is a little sticky though not cloying. Nice big beer with a long hoppy finish. KnutAlbert (3110), Oslo, Norway Sep 7, 2007 660 ml bottle, thanks to GrOve.
Full aroma package with lots of hops. Grainy. Lots of malty sweetness, flowers, dryness. A lovely complex beer. larsga (2937), Oslo, Norway Sep 6, 2007 Biggish offwhite head. Dark red body. Deep, firm sweetish malty papery aroma with harmonic hoppy notes. Dry-sweetish resiny malty caramelly fruity taste, so fantastically harmonic it’s not even funny. Rye-like notes. Clean, rich mouthfeel. Dry, rye and medicine aftertaste. Fantastic! (1/2pt 6 fl oz bottle from gr0ve.) Gr0ve (1382), Oslo, Norway Sep 6, 2007 1 pint 6 fl. oz. bottle. Copper coloured. Slight haze. Tall white fluffy head that clings to the head. Strong malt aroma. Complex malts. Bold rounded hops with notes of pine and apricot. Sweet malty body nicely balanced by somewhat neutral hops. Wonderful balance. Finish is hoppy with a strong dry bitterness. Finish is also powdery. Bold hops become very obvious towards the finish. dkoonce (880), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Sep 5, 2007 Pours deep hazy copper, with a thick, creamy off-white head. Strong hop aroma, with fruity and resiny blending well. Lighter than I anticipated, with a sweet flavor, cut only by the hops. No real malt character. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Sep 3, 2007 Bottle picked up at Piccadilly’s in Champaign, shared with Duane. Clear orange pour with tons of sweet malt/ caramel aroma. Not very complex on the tongue though. Decent ASA for sure, but something of an unremarkable one.
