Saarlander (1577), Saarlouis, Germany Aug 19, 2007 A dark Amber pour, ok head. Hop aroma. A sweet, sticky on the lips brew, plenty of hops, lots of caramel, decent drinker, alcohol well hidden, a nice drink, but Lagunitas brews are so similar... Would like a try at a unique brew from these guys.. Make it happen Lagunitas! Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 19, 2007 (Bottle 65 cl) Clear, amber golden with a dense, off-white head. Classical, fat American aroma of caramel and aroma hops. Medium-bodied with very burned caramel notes, some fruit and a bitter finish. An archetypical American strong. 150807 fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Aug 15, 2007 Beautiful amber color. Very nice hoppy and malty aroma; I like particularly the resiny side of the hop. Strong flavor with a medium body strength, strong sweet caramel flavor, that the (strong) hopping balances it quite well, and a long final; the alcohol is warming. Powerful. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA Aug 13, 2007 bomber, shared by illini08, thanks Jeremy. started out full of promise, wonderful caramel and ripe fruit aroma, followed by a great looking pour of a dark orangy-amber, off-white head and some floaties. unfortunately, it all went a bit downhill from there. flavor was mostly caramel with some citrus, piney hops and seemed anything but complex. abv was hidden well, but there was nothing here to distinguish this one from the horde of similar brews. asedzie (453), San Francisco, California, USA Aug 7, 2007 Pours beautiful ruby-copper with medium tan head. Aroma is citrusy hops, pear, round malty scents some metallic and raw alcohol notes. Flavor is full, nearly sweet, toffee maltiness pitted against bright and aggresive floral and berry-like hops. Alcohol and light piney bitterness in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is balanced slightly creamy. Beautifully raw and pushy ale. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark Aug 5, 2007 65 cl. bottle. Reddish, amber colour with a nice white head.
Lovely aroma of hops - specially high alpha hops with notes of caramel. Flavour of malt, caramel, hops, and ends up with citrus and a little alcohol. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 4, 2007 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a slightly hazy softly carbonated orange brown colored body. The aroma was malty sweet and Irish Red malty. The mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops caramel and Irish red malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 29, 2007 Bomber. Dark red pour with small white head. Big candied sugar aroma with just a touch of hops. The taste was just the opposite; big hop taste that was balanced with some sugary sweetness. Big and bold, this is what a west coast micro is suppose to taste like.
