Commercial Description:
From the first day of the first mash of the first recipe in the first space to this oasis 13 years on the road; We have worked hard to walk in the footsteps of our hero brewers. The Esteemed brewer of California's best Pale Ale, the Noble Brewer of the planet's only legal Steam Beer, and Oregon's Rebel Brewer from Newport. Thirteen years down the road, we have found our own voice as brewers but our admiration for the Great Ones has not dimmed one bit. If we walked well down the hero's path ourselves, perhaps we too have been an inspiration for others. Beer is a Bronze Age business and we feel honored to have left our footprints on its path into history, at the same time leaving our flavors on your buds. Thanks for your trust over the years and we hope you enjoy this specially brewed Hi-Gravity Auburn offering. Beer Speaks. People Mumble! O.G. 1.085 76.92 IBU

Bottle from GBBF 09. Very approachable barley wine. Big US hop aroma, good toffee malts to keep the structure up, just a bit of minty alcohol and then good hop finish that really bites. Never to sweet, never too strong. I liked this a lot. Somewhere between a DIPA and a barley wine. Good though, lovely sweet biting grapefruit on finish.

Bottled GBBF 09. An amber coloured beer with a big off-white head. The aroam is pretty massive with a great balance of hop malt and heady alcohol. It’s really inviting. The taste is also huge and superbly balanced. Warming long and scrumptious. Cuddly like a carpet.

Bottle from GBBF. Pours a deep amber/red with a nice lasting head. Has aromas of barley sugars, pears, peaches a very nice smell indeed! Flavours of dessert pears, light hops, coriander. Lots of hops in the finish.

That’s what i’m talking about. This ale pours a nice deep copper with a nice head and great lacing. Medium bodied and with great flavor. Taste is nicely layered and complex. Big malt tones with even slightly bigger hop flavor that makes this a great strong ale. Also great citrus floral nose!

22 oz’er. Dark, ruddy red with a thin but staying tight foam top. The aroma is exceptional -- full of promise of a floral, rich, hoppy brew. The drink is good ... rich with flavor, but not overpowering. Caramel, gummybear fruitiness, light alcohol burn. Quite quaffable! (#3635, 8/8/2009)

orange red with little head but lots of lace initial aroma allows discernment of floral and pacific fruity notes, later a medicinal rubbing alcohol rears its head. This has a huge malt bill and is very chewy. Scotch like character. It may be the beer which most reminds me of Double Bastard. It was ok but not something I would seek out again.

Bomber from Whole Foods in Columbus, OH. A very tasty, hoppy red. The pour is deep ruby and the aroma is citrusy and full of hops. A wonderful caramel malt backbone that glides smoothly into the big hop presence in the flavor and the finish. Well Done.

I kind of really liked this. Pours an orangish red with a beautiful head and sheets of lace. The aroma is floral with some pine and a little alcohol. The flavor is well balanced with some pineapple and other fruity flavors, nicely bitter and hoppy with some rose water. I couldn’t shake that this reminded me a little bit of surly furious.
