COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mondo Large Red Ale
From the first day of the first mash of the first recipe in the first space to this oasis 13 years on the road; We have worked hard to walk in the footsteps of our hero brewers. The Esteemed brewer of California’s best Pale Ale, the Noble Brewer of the planet’s only legal Steam Beer, and Oregon’s Rebel Brewer from Newport. Thirteen years down the road, we have found our own voice as brewers but our admiration for the Great Ones has not dimmed one bit. If we walked well down the hero’s path ourselves, perhaps we too have been an inspiration for others. Beer is a Bronze Age business and we feel honored to have left our footprints on its path into history, at the same time leaving our flavors on your buds. Thanks for your trust over the years and we hope you enjoy this specially brewed Hi-Gravity Auburn offering. Beer Speaks. People Mumble! O.G. 1.085 76.92 IBU

Tantilizing lemon/orange-esque aroma upon pour. Little head retention. Color is a medium orange. Thought it was going to be darker. Poured from a pounder bottle. Taste is succulent and reminds me a bit of Blue Moon. This would be a summer beer for me. I am impressed with the overall floral and fruit smell. The beer is definitely high quality and deserves a spot in most everyone’s beer cooler. With this high ABV, I like the mild drinkability of this brew. Not overly hoppy and good malt flavorings.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2016 A beautiful clear reddish amber / auburn with a big frothy lasting tan head. Solid hoppiness to match the hefty malt base. Good balance all around. Red Fruity. Caramel. Pine. Grapefruit. Appropriate level of booziness.

Bottle from Kroger.Pours red with an inch of frothy beige head. Heavy hop aroma: lots of citrus and pine. Taste is citrus, slightly burnt malt, light bread. Aroma is better than the taste.

Pours medium amber brown with red hues. Aromas of piney hops, faint berries. Flavors of hops, rich malts, and a touch of raspberry. Medium body, lightly creamy with nice bitter finish.

Aroma is a complex mix of citrus, fruit and malts. The flavor is citrus/fruit, hops/hop resin, spices, malts, mild tropical fruit and a bitter/warming alcohol finish.

Amber body, medium head. Lots going on, with caramel malt that shows tropical citrus notes as well. Hints of warm rye bread add nuance. This finishes with a blast of dry, bitter hops that overwhelm the rest, although the heat is covered well.

Nice hoppy malty aroma, very balanced. Light crimson color with a dense white head. Taste is hoppy on the verge of bitter yet sweet enough to achieve good balance like it has in the aroma. Great slick palate with a slight tingle of carbonation on the tongue. This was great, I just wish it were easier to find.

Pretty good. Surprisingly easy to drink for the high abv. Pours and amberish red.
