COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the first day of the first mash of the first recipe in the first space to this oasis 13 years on the road; We have worked hard to walk in the footsteps of our hero brewers. The Esteemed brewer of California’s best Pale Ale, the Noble Brewer of the planet’s only legal Steam Beer, and Oregon’s Rebel Brewer from Newport. Thirteen years down the road, we have found our own voice as brewers but our admiration for the Great Ones has not dimmed one bit. If we walked well down the hero’s path ourselves, perhaps we too have been an inspiration for others. Beer is a Bronze Age business and we feel honored to have left our footprints on its path into history, at the same time leaving our flavors on your buds. Thanks for your trust over the years and we hope you enjoy this specially brewed Hi-Gravity Auburn offering. Beer Speaks. People Mumble! O.G. 1.085 76.92 IBU

Cask at GBBF. Clear red -brown beer. Decent cream coloured head. Dry semi crisp palate. Light creamy sweet malt balanced very well with pineapple and grapefruit hops. A little aniseed in the dry finish. Goes down very easily indeed.

22-oz bottle purchased at Coaltrain Wine and Liquor, Colorado Springs, CO. Pours clear amber with a small, rocky, off-white head, mostly lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee), heavy hops (flowers, perfume, pine), average yeast (sweat, musty) with notes of apple and pear. Medium bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness and acidity, heavy bitterness.

A red style with a distinct strong alcohol, highly hopped. Smooth drinking like an IPA. IPA colkour, a reddish tinge, hoppy aroma, small head and a little lace. One dimension hops above all, but not a double or imperial hop. Well with food and refreshing at end of Summer One Day.

Thanks to cewldre for this one. Clear ruby/deep coppery pour with 1-finger, creamy, cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel malt, heavy hops, citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, cabernet. The palate is fairly rich, complex, with flavor notes of heavy hops, big caramel malt, tangerine, grapefruit, honeydew, and some cabernet notes. I enjoyed this one a great deal.

Bomber poured a clear auburn with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, pine and light citrus. Palate was medium to full bodied and slightly resiny. Flavors of carmel, pine, grapefruit and a hint of orange with a lingering bitter finish. This beer is a Hopheads dream!

Comments: Straightforward biscuity, very sweet, caramelly American ale overloaded with crystal malt sugars and clashing hops. Full-on bitterness, salty and mineral finish. Been there, done that.

Tasting at Brewtopia. Amber pour wtih a mostly white and small head. Aromas of caramel, hops, dried fruit and some candy sugar. Flavor is very nice. The hops and malt combine to make a very nice tasting brew. Caramel, malt, sweet floral hops are all done very well in this beer.

Ughsmash (5837) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 5, 2008
Bomber, original bottling. Poured bright, fiery red with a well-retained, creamy cap of yellowy-white head. The aroma picked up a hefty dose of aggressive, juicy redder fruit hoppage, pine needles, alcohol, and notes of oxidation.. just kick you in the head, but I kinda liked it. The flavor opened with tangy grapefruit amplified by a large boozy presence.. followed closely by spicy pear and apricot notes.. grainy fruits, caramel, and more fiery alcohol rode out the long finish.. aggressive and engaging. Medium-plus bodied, spicy, and warm on the palate.. not intricate by any means, but it kept me interested.

jerc (5591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 4, 2007
Bottle. Dark amber body with a small fluffy beige head. Big leafy hop aroma, with a good does of resiny goodness, very mild orange. Fairly bitter. Quite bitter actually, with nice resiny hops, mild notes of orange citrus in the finish. Booze becomes a bit boorish at times but is respectably restrained for the most part. Average to medium palate. Quite liked this one.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with a light tan head. Sweet with caramel and citrus fruit, alcohol latent pine and grapefruit. Hop resins and a dry but chewy finish.
