Mondo Large Red Ale
From the first day of the first mash of the first recipe in the first space to this oasis 13 years on the road; We have worked hard to walk in the footsteps of our hero brewers. The Esteemed brewer of California’s best Pale Ale, the Noble Brewer of the planet’s only legal Steam Beer, and Oregon’s Rebel Brewer from Newport. Thirteen years down the road, we have found our own voice as brewers but our admiration for the Great Ones has not dimmed one bit. If we walked well down the hero’s path ourselves, perhaps we too have been an inspiration for others. Beer is a Bronze Age business and we feel honored to have left our footprints on its path into history, at the same time leaving our flavors on your buds. Thanks for your trust over the years and we hope you enjoy this specially brewed Hi-Gravity Auburn offering. Beer Speaks. People Mumble! O.G. 1.085 76.92 IBU

Bottle from Stone in Asagaya. Pours a pretty copper with a finger of off-white head that lingers. Caramel nose with some light cocoa powder and grapefruit, piney hops. Body feels light for the abv and very drinkable. Clean finish with citrus and caramel. Solid but sterile.

Aroma is metallic, hops, caramel malt, booze, bitter. Appearance is red rust orange, light tan head, slight haze. Taste is fruity, citrus, caramel malt, booze, old person candy, eh. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, crisp, fruit candy aftertaste. Overall, eh. It’s decent but nothing to write home about.

355ml bottle. (8.8% ABV) Pours a clear amber-copper with a large, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, grapefruit and pine. Sweet, fruity flavour of caramel malt, grapefruit, pine, grass and booze with a dry, bitter, hop resin finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Excellent. A powerful, hoppy brew.

Draught @ Milk and Hops. Slightly cloudy copper red with small foamy off-white head, sweet caramel aroma, medium carbonation, caramel taste with initial sweetness followed by quinine like bitter taste, thin body, long bitter finish. The strange bitterness disrupts the pleasure, could be a lot better.

Dark amber with an impressive orange hue head. Smell is really nice...fresh hopiness with some spice maybe? Taste is more rich, more sweet, more full bodied than i I expected from the IPA-like aroma. I think I like this one.

Bottle into tulip glass, clear amber-caramel color with tan head. Aroma notes of caramel malt, fruitbowl hoppiness and pine. Taste adds more citrus, resin, toffee, grass bitterness and tad booze. Medium-heavy body, low carbonation, creamy, oily, dry with lingering citrus fruity/pine finish. Great creamy body, nice strong flavor.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear brownish orange with a small off-white head. The aroma was an excellent blend of grass, malt, hops and citrus. The taste was an excellent melding of citrus, malt and hops. One of the best beers I have had in months. Outstanding.
