COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mondo Large Red Ale
From the first day of the first mash of the first recipe in the first space to this oasis 13 years on the road; We have worked hard to walk in the footsteps of our hero brewers. The Esteemed brewer of California’s best Pale Ale, the Noble Brewer of the planet’s only legal Steam Beer, and Oregon’s Rebel Brewer from Newport. Thirteen years down the road, we have found our own voice as brewers but our admiration for the Great Ones has not dimmed one bit. If we walked well down the hero’s path ourselves, perhaps we too have been an inspiration for others. Beer is a Bronze Age business and we feel honored to have left our footprints on its path into history, at the same time leaving our flavors on your buds. Thanks for your trust over the years and we hope you enjoy this specially brewed Hi-Gravity Auburn offering. Beer Speaks. People Mumble! O.G. 1.085 76.92 IBU

Clear medium amber, smallish beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel with a cookie not, citrusy. Moderately sweet, caramel & cookies, piney citrus, moderate-dry finish. Medium body with a resiny feel. Overall a well balanced beer, enjoyable to drink but not at the top of the class.

Clear deep Amber colored with a foamy/rocky ivory cap. Lovely nose of caramalts and Amber tones with earthy sweetness and a light floral resiny hop tone in there. Nice flavor that’s boozy and amberish with a nuanced hop floral tone, some biscuit, and a hot, caramalty and slightly floral resiny bitter finish.

Lag lucky 13 Pours clear and deep red Amber with a soapy thick off white head that wet laces nicely. Aroma is sweet caramel malts, citrus hops and florals. Very nice. Taste follows - very nicely balanced with a touch towards the sweet. Caramel malts and orange citrus with some piney hop bitterness that lingers. Very dense flavors. Another unique Lagunitas winner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is caramelly and malty with a sweet approach and also a pretty hefty pine sensation. Taste is toffee sweet with rye biscuits and apricots. A rather big hop hit in the end, before a slightly warming finish sets in.

Smakrik och fyllig. En aning söt och inte så värst besk. Alkoholen värmer helt klart.

Garlic_of_Doom (626) - SWEDEN - AUG 24, 2016
Bottle. Pours amber with a huge frothy off white head, no retention, nice lacing. Aroma has canned pineapple, cookie dough, spicy grains. Taste is sweet with caramel, pine and surprisingly low bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation, smooth yet dry mouth feel. Short, warming and lingering bitter after taste.
I was expecting something more aggressive, perhaps full bodied and super bitter. This is a pretty balanced American Strong Ale and as usual from Lagunitas, solid.
