Mondo Large Red Ale
From the first day of the first mash of the first recipe in the first space to this oasis 13 years on the road; We have worked hard to walk in the footsteps of our hero brewers. The Esteemed brewer of California’s best Pale Ale, the Noble Brewer of the planet’s only legal Steam Beer, and Oregon’s Rebel Brewer from Newport. Thirteen years down the road, we have found our own voice as brewers but our admiration for the Great Ones has not dimmed one bit. If we walked well down the hero’s path ourselves, perhaps we too have been an inspiration for others. Beer is a Bronze Age business and we feel honored to have left our footprints on its path into history, at the same time leaving our flavors on your buds. Thanks for your trust over the years and we hope you enjoy this specially brewed Hi-Gravity Auburn offering. Beer Speaks. People Mumble! O.G. 1.085 76.92 IBU

22 oz bomber. Beautiful reddish gold body with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy with a fruity sweetness. Flavor was hoppier than I expected, balanced by subtle sweet bread and caramel notes. Light carbonation and quite nice to drink.

On tap at Fermentoren. Pours a clear orangy amber with a medium sized, off white head. Aroma has heavy, toasted, sweet malts, pale malts, grassy, slight earthy hops, citrus, mango, orange. Taste is strong, sweet, toasted and bitter. Better balanced than arrogant bastard etc, but still not my style really.. Average carbonation and a somewhat sticky body.

Tap. Clear amber body with an average lacing off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange a hint of flowers and toasted caramel. Quite a sweet flavor that ends up more dry and decent bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. An excellent Strong Amerian/ Red IPA. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Tap@Søernes. Pours clear amber with offwhite head. Aroma is fruity, malty caramel with sweet resinous, and orange hoppiness. Taste is semi-sweet malty with caramel, biscuit and toffee yet hoppy with orange, pine and slightly grapefruit. Finish is both semi-sweet and bitter. Good one!

Pours up a beautiful clear reddish amber with a big frothy lasting tan head. Aroma is hops, malt, and some booze. Taste is solid hops to match the hefty malt base. Good balance all around with a Fruity Caramel Pine taste. Some Grapefruit. Some booziness.

Pours a clear, dark amber with little head and minimal lacing. Aroma is very sweet and dominated by caramel malt with some bread. I think there is some pine hiding in there but this is predominantly sweet. Taste follows the nose with some subtle bitterness that lingers a little in the finish but caramel malt is the main player here. Medium to full bodied. If I had this at a blind tasting I would know it was Lagunitas. It is similar to Brown Shugga only less sweet which is a good thing.
