COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the first day of the first mash of the first recipe in the first space to this oasis 13 years on the road; We have worked hard to walk in the footsteps of our hero brewers. The Esteemed brewer of California’s best Pale Ale, the Noble Brewer of the planet’s only legal Steam Beer, and Oregon’s Rebel Brewer from Newport. Thirteen years down the road, we have found our own voice as brewers but our admiration for the Great Ones has not dimmed one bit. If we walked well down the hero’s path ourselves, perhaps we too have been an inspiration for others. Beer is a Bronze Age business and we feel honored to have left our footprints on its path into history, at the same time leaving our flavors on your buds. Thanks for your trust over the years and we hope you enjoy this specially brewed Hi-Gravity Auburn offering. Beer Speaks. People Mumble! O.G. 1.085 76.92 IBU

Bottle. Pours a reddish brown with compact white head. Aroma is mostly hoppy and flavor is malty and slightly sweet with caramel but still toasty and stuff. Lots of citrus and piney hops. Finish is hoppy and all that. Good beer I think. What the heck.

Poured 22oz bomber in a tulip glass. Beautiful mahogany color with nice release of the carbonation into bubbly vanilla head and excellent lacing. Fabulous balance of hops and malt flavors with medium to full body and slightly creamy texture. Light finish with lingering sweetness.

Poured a finger of reddish head on a clear, deep amber colored body. The aroma is rich: finished wood, dry grain and lemon. They get big flavor points for the shear "biggness" of the beer. Big malt, big hops, big bitterness, lower malt sweetness. It tastes "red." The texture is crisper with moderate carbonation. They hit it for a big red ale.

22 oz bomber This is agem. The redale poured deep red to amber color with a nice hoppy and malty aroma; I like the hoppy side of theis beer. The resin like flavors and medium body are above average. The strong had a nice medium body with average carbonatipon. the finish was balanced ahd me wanting more.

Aromas of tropical--papaya, pineapple, mango--and citrus fruit, and caramel, with subtle toast. Clear copper with a mostly fading, off-white head. Slightly sweet maltiness, juicy, fruity hops, somewhat resiny, and perceptible strength. Light-medium body, good carbonation, and finishes hoppy and strong with hop bitterness lingering.

Lagunitas Lucky 13 is a strong red ale that’s worthy of serving alongside Oskar Blues G’Night and Stone’s Bastard series. I mean, this is a damn fine, complex, rewarding beer. It pours a clear but deep amber, and the head is only a finger or so but there’s a lot of continuous lace. The smell is inviting; spicy and dry with warm ginger and caramel notes, and the flavor is even better than that. The front of the sip floods my mouth with a slightly sweet, rich, mellow malt that finishes with hoppy burn and some kick from the ABV. There are all kinds of tasty notes that weave in and out of the flavor, like graham crackers, walnuts, buttered bread... God, this is drinkable. I hate to say it, but it might be more drinkable than my beloved Arrogant Bastard. If nothing else, this stuff is certainly a great introduction to the Strong American/Imperial Red style, because it’s so classically strong but also so damn chuggable. Lagunitas has been knocking me out lately. Ever since Sucks, last year’s Christmas beer, every new brew they’ve popped out has been a winner. This is one more.

Bottle. Clear dark copper, foamy white head. Roasted sweet malt aroma, sweet pine, lemon. Taste is toast and biscuit malt, lemon, tangy grapefruit. Medium carbonation and body, but balanced perfectly.

Nice malty flavor/aroma. This is how I prefer my amber/red ales, because this is pretty hoppy but not over the top. Very enjoyable.

copper, frothy off-white head. citrus, resin, floral, pepper, toffee. medium-heavy bitter, medium sweet. medium-heavy body, oily feel. amarillo hops tend to be hit or miss for me, but in this case they were a hit.
