COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blonde version of Lucky 13, released in 2011 and 2012.
From the first day of the first mash of the first recipe in the first brewhouse in the first space to this oasis 13 years on the road; We have worked hard to walk in the footsteps of our hero brewers- The Noble Brewer of the planetís only legal Steam Beer, and Oregonís Rebel Brewer from Newport. Thirteen years down the road, we have found our own voice as brewers but our admiration for the Great Ones has not dimmed one bit. If we walked well down the heroís path ourselves, perhaps we too have been an inspiration for others. Beer is a Bronze Age business and we feel honored to have left our footprints on itís path into history, at the same time leaving our flavors on your buds. Thanks for your trust over the years and we hope you enjoy this specialty breweed Hi-Gravity Auburn offering.

Golden pour, remnants of the head lingers nicely. Aroma of pine and sour fruit, like apricot. Good mouthfeel, sour apricot and bitterness initially that fades to a phenolic alcohol. I like the start, but the ending is rather new for me and Iím not sure how much I like it.

Sikash (240) - North Carolina, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Pours a mostly clear golden color with a foamy white head that lasts a good long while. Aroma is nice heavy hop notes with citrus and pine with some sweet malt and caramel mixed in. Flavor is very bittersweet that has a moderate duration with notes of sweet malt while the hops are not as present but still there with a slight woody note. Mouthfeel is full with decent carbonation. Overall a solid beer.

Type: 22-oz. bomber Glass: Lagunitas mason jar From: Clemís Bottle House and Deli Price: $5.99 Misc.: N/A Poured a caramel orange clear color with two fingers of white head. Nice uneven, foamy lacing all the way down. Decent retention as well. Smelled a refreshing surprise of hops up front. Got very sweet floral hops first. Also pine, citrus, sharp, but light grapefruit, lemon, light lime and orange peel. Basically smelled like a floral IPA. Tasted similar to the smell, which is a good thing. Still reminded me or an IPA more than an American Strong Ale. Got those sweet, sugar floral hops. Nice bitterness on the tongue after. Citrus, lemon, lime, pine, sharp grapefruit. Very good. Light body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. Really liked this beer. I really didnít even know what type it was when I bought it and found out home when I checked Beer Advocate (hiding the rating with my hand of course). Another good beer from Lagunitas.

Small white head that disappears quickly. Clear light golden liquid. Hops and caramel in the nose. Rich and thick mouthfeel. Fruity hoppy taste.

Bottle at ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to Henrik! Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Lots of caramel and juicy pine on the nose. Medium to big sweet flavor, big bready malts, caramel, ripe orange, pine. Medium to full in body with average carbonation. Lightly resinous to finish with toasty caramel, further pine, toasty grass, some berries, ripe citrus. Very tasty, very drinkable. Another good one from the Petaluma boys.

Bottle at ChrisO tasting, thanks to Henrik, 30/12/12. Lightly hazed mid golden with a thin white head that dissipates edgeward. Nose is hops, pine, caramel malts. Taste follows, bitter pine, grapefruit, caramel malt, touch of biscuit. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and some hop bitterness in the finish. Decent stuff.

(bottle) Nice thick foamy head along with persistent white lacing on glass. Understated aroma. Hops dominate flavor with pine and some grapefruit elements. IBU seems higher than 77 at times yet fairly smooth. A hop bomb.
