COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the first day of the first mash of the first recipe in the first brewhouse in the first space to this oasis 13 years on the road; We have worked hard to walk in the footsteps of our hero brewers- The Noble Brewer of the planet’s only legal Steam Beer, and Oregon’s Rebel Brewer from Newport. Thirteen years down the road, we have found our own voice as brewers but our admiration for the Great Ones has not dimmed one bit. If we walked well down the hero’s path ourselves, perhaps we too have been an inspiration for others. Beer is a Bronze Age business and we feel honored to have left our footprints on it’s path into history, at the same time leaving our flavors on your buds. Thanks for your trust over the years and we hope you enjoy this specialty breweed Hi-Gravity Auburn offering.

Malt is borderline lagery. Very strong hop. Pine oil and citrus is very "sharp." The color is clear golden yellow. Massive head. Minor, slow carbonation. You’d never know how heavy this baby is. The malts are heavy and sugary; toffee and puckery cherry. The aftertaste is pungent. Feels thick and chunky and buttery. Just this side of a barleywine. Somehow it’s a bit too much.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thanks Dad! Hazy orange pour with nice lacing white head, aroma brought notes of nice caramel, toffee, hints of earth, grain, touch of orange, grapefruit notes in there, pretty sweet. Taste is a mix of caramel, toffee, some grass, slight earthy and spicy notes, some orange, finishing sweet, slightly dry. Decent.

Klar, gyllene orange öl med fast lätt färgat skum. Doft: Kryddor, barr, jäst, sött matbröd, jord, röda äpplen, russin, ek. Smak: Kryddor, mineraler, rostade toner, apelsin, kiwi, krusbär. Nice barrig eftersmak men oxå lite spritig, men wtf nästan 9% och det märks inte direkt.

22 ounce bottle. Deep honey gold color topped by a large bubbly white head. Perfumy citrus hop aroma. Soft toasted malt flavor balanced by a bitersweet grapefruit hop flavor. Hints of ginger and vanilla in the malt backdrop. Long pleasantly bitter hop finish.

22oz bottle. Orange-amber color. I wasn;t sure what to expect since the label had "alt" on it but this was no German beer by any means. It smelled hoppy and tasted like a hoppy strong ale. Overall it wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad. A very good value for $4 and about what I’d expect. I think I liked the regular lucky 13 more. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-09-2011 03:09:53

Bottled:
Pours clear bronze with a creamy head. Orange peels, hops and pine on the nose. Flavour is hops, caramel, honey and pine needles. Long, bitter finish. Pretty good!

My Bottom Line:
Fat, sugary cereals meet citrusy hop resins in this slightly maderized strong ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam surfs the misty gold.
-The starkly honeyed, sugary profile reminds me of many Dogfish Head brews. A jumble of flavors muddled by the prevalent sweetness.
-I don’t know if this is supposed to smell of madeira at this young age...
-The citrusy hops are pleasant, but could be brighter.
-This remains a flavorful brew, but one which will be soon forgotten.

Bottle.
