COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blonde version of Lucky 13, released in 2011 and 2012.
From the first day of the first mash of the first recipe in the first brewhouse in the first space to this oasis 13 years on the road; We have worked hard to walk in the footsteps of our hero brewers- The Noble Brewer of the planet’s only legal Steam Beer, and Oregon’s Rebel Brewer from Newport. Thirteen years down the road, we have found our own voice as brewers but our admiration for the Great Ones has not dimmed one bit. If we walked well down the hero’s path ourselves, perhaps we too have been an inspiration for others. Beer is a Bronze Age business and we feel honored to have left our footprints on it’s path into history, at the same time leaving our flavors on your buds. Thanks for your trust over the years and we hope you enjoy this specialty breweed Hi-Gravity Auburn offering.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours light copper/amber with a creamy/fizzy white head. There seems to be a lot of resin in the nose. Nearly full bodied with strong, but soft, carb. Flavor is resin over roast malt, there’s a barley wine similarity (heavily hopped barleywine), and there’s also something extra in terms of veg/herb hop. Tarragon? Or maybe it’s light pitted fruits. Whatever, it is unidentifiable by me, but it certainly enhances the beer. I’m rashly guessing that the alt refers to alternative rather than style. For some years I’ve missed the little alt on 13 labels. Glad to have finally noticed!!!!!!!& Finishes quite bitter. Very nice.

Bottle at ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to Henrik! Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Lots of caramel and juicy pine on the nose. Medium to big sweet flavor, big bready malts, caramel, ripe orange, pine. Medium to full in body with average carbonation. Lightly resinous to finish with toasty caramel, further pine, toasty grass, some berries, ripe citrus. Very tasty, very drinkable. Another good one from the Petaluma boys.

A: The beer pours amber in color with a slightly off-white head. S: A malt driven beer with lots of caramel and toffee. There’s a nice hoppiness, too with some citrus and floral notes. A bit more malt in the form of bread. There’s an almost candy sweetness and a bit of fruit. T: Lots of toffee, brown sugar, and caramel malt character, which is nice. More sweetness from the candy/sugar, and some red fruits (grapes and berries?). Still some hop notes with mild citrus, and a mild bitterness. M: The body is medium with a medium carbonation. O: Lagunitas makes some fine ales, and this was one of them.

Draft. Poured a clear copper color with a medium fizzy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy pine hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid west coast brew.
