TheBeerBaron (218), Florida, USA Jun 23, 2008 Big bottle. Clear medium brown hue. Impressive creamy tan head that laces, no active carbonation in the glass. Malty aroma with a root beer sweet finish. Bitterness from hops dominates the taste. This is unexpected because hops are not really observed in the smell. A full malt flavor is there also but takes a back seat to what must be a large amount of hops in the mix. Any ancillary spices or fruits are buried from the tongue bu these two. A thick palate which is expected from a heavy ale. An admired beer due to the amount of costly ingredients. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 23, 2008 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of FlacoAlto. Clear amber golden with an off-white head. Aroma of burned caramel and overripe fruit. Medium body with sweetish burned caramel, fruit and overripe fruit. Some bittering hops in the finish. 190608 joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 23, 2008 Botte #14 at Papsoes blindtasting.

Pours clear and golden amber with a lacing white head. Mild spiced and wet woody aroma. Flavour is mild spiced, light caramel malt and with a light bitterness lurking through. Medium sweet caramel malt into the finish with a mild bitternes. jcp23 (47), Duluth, Georgia, USA Jun 22, 2008 Bomber into big trappist glass. Not much discernible aroma, but what there is is FRESH. Deep, dark, clear amber color with some nice tan head that dissolves into a small outer ring and fine swirly coating on the top of the liquid. Some fine, spotty lacing. Very enjoyable roasted caramel malt flavors, along with some woody spiciness that leads into a slighly dry finish. This brew is well executed with a quite drinkable palate and good balance. Me likes! joeymacaroni (181), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 21, 2008 pours ruby brown with almost no head. aroma of raisin bread, caramel and brown sugar. taste is heavily caramel, along with mocha, cherry, spice, and more raisin bread. a little roasted coffee in the finish, with a piny bitterness. highly drinkable. not too complex though. sleepylopes (313), New York, USA Jun 21, 2008 dark copper patina color. Ballance and delicious. Hops and malt maybe not the best but good. I’m a bit drunk. BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jun 21, 2008 For an american strong ale, nothing is overpowering here, not a hop bomb, chocolate blast, or cup of coffee. Just bland balance. Which is nice surprise. Chocolate malt, spice, alcohol well hidden. Drinkable for sho
