MadIndian (987), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA May 11, 2008 Bottle from Canals, I wasn’t too crazy about this but it was still good. Sweet malt aroma with a sweet malt taste. It is what it is. It’s ok. redlight (1445), Winter Park, Florida, USA May 10, 2008 draft @ redlight redlight Caramelly nutty aroma, with hints of pine aromas. Pours amber with a thick off white head. Caramel malts with spicy piney hops, sweet malts upfront with crisp hops in the finish. Quite piney with a good malt back ground. Good beer. treadyroc (112), St. Leonard, Maryland, USA May 9, 2008 Is nothing "spectacular," but at the same time, it’s very solid. Reminds me of a DPA that doesn’t have the extra je ne sais quois to distinguish it. Rusty brown; balanced hops... dare I say session beer? LiebeBier (788), Annapolis, Maryland, USA May 9, 2008 Draft - This beer tasted a lot like an imperial brown. Big beer with very rich flavors. I would have liked this beer with a bit more hop flavor and aroma. Otherwise quite good. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam May 9, 2008 Bright reddish-amber with a thin bubbly head. Rich, earthy caramel nose with an undertone that is somewhat mushroomy. The palate is a bit thin, with somewhat astringent toasty elements. There’s only a hint of the chewiness promised in the aroma. joshwilfong (769), Cleveland, Ohio, USA May 8, 2008 brownish red appearance with mild head and mlld carbonation. flavor has strong caramal malt appearance with some hop bitterness but no overt hop flavor. the beer lacks much depth and the flavor is understated for a strong ale. disappointing but not bad RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA May 8, 2008 Dark brown pour with a creamy beige head. tangy, lightly sweet and malty with an earthy hop presence. Medium bodied. Not bad. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA May 6, 2008 On tap at binny’s south loop. Darker hazy brown-red with substantial fizzy off-white head. Aroma is toffee, yeast, bread, a little molasses, brown sugar, fresh noble hops, medium dry in general. Brown sugar, a little yeast, some hop notes, plum, some alc, but very subdued. Medium to thin body that is a tad bit watery. Not bad, though I was expecting a little bit more after there last beer in the series.
