dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 22, 2008 22oz. Not sure what all the hype is about, but it certainly sells well. This is probably one of the sweetest strong ales I have ever had from a serious producer. lots of brown sugar, plum, candied orange happening. lucky charms on the finish. good riddance. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Mar 22, 2008 On tap: Deep amber in color with a thin head that dissipated rather quickly. Both the nose and palate showed off sweet malt. Flavors of brown sugar, caramel, toffee and chocolate. The palate was smooth, rich and powerful with a bit of hoppy bitterness in the finish. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Mar 21, 2008 This bottled brew from a bdigi66 at a rating party poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized light brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a transparent dark red brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malty sweet and honey. The mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes ofold ale malt hops and was mildly vinous. An OK brew just nothing special except that Frank is cool! corby112 (671), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 17, 2008 Pours a dark amber brown color with thin white head. Similar to the Brow Sugga just with more of the same ingredients. Lots of brown sugar, cinamon, chocolate malts and dark fruit. A little to sweet for my liking. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Mar 16, 2008 Brilliantly clear copper body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet light caramel aroma, some tea like hints, and a touch of roast. Sweet caramel flavor, light graininess, some fruity hints and a touch of tea-like flavors in the end. Medium body with moderate carbonation. kiefdog (1534), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 16, 2008 On tap at the Oldsmar Tap House (FL) on 3/15/08. Pours a dark brown with a one-finger white/tan head. Aroma: raisin, malty, sweet. Flavor: faint bitterness throughout, malty, complex grain taste. Sweet and bitter lingering finish. Derek881 (486), Frederick, Maryland, USA Mar 15, 2008 Had this beer from a larger-sized bottle. A darker, but clear amber color, with a fairly good off-white head with some retention. The aroma was mostly roasty malt chocolate and caramel, with some lighter citrus and spicy hops too. A solid flavor, mostly sweet and roasty, with some bitterness towards the finish. Fairly full beer on the palate, with good carbonation, and some wetness. Pretty good beer at a reasonable price, but does not stand out. demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Mar 14, 2008 Bomber: I really like the aroma overall. Nice malt characteristic but intermingled nicely with a citrus hop element makes this a really nice smelling brew in my opinion. A clear amber pour with a large slowly diminishing off white head that lingers. Taste is sticky, caramel, malts, almost an artifical candy taste to it. Palate is strange sticky and that bad hard candy finish. It started out really good but ended up rather unbalanced and off putting. Overall, Would I drink it if offered for free? Yes. Would I buy it again? No
