Pours a light brown mahogany with a large off white head, some decent lace, all settling to a thin layer over a few minutes. Dark fruitiness of ripe figs, dates, and raisins, and lurking underneath some peppery spice. Medium body and carbonation, resinous feel, dry palate. Burnt caramel flavors and spicy bitterness come on quickly, finishes dry with a slightly astringent bitterness. Cobra (1061), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2008 bottle from Ft Wayne tasting - Ok, my notes are lousy on this one, mostly because I just didn’t know what to make of it. I wrote a few comments and a big question mark. It pours clear amber with a big head. It smells mostly of malt. The flavor has a pretty good hops balance though. It’s medium bodied, has some mild hops in the finish, and well, it’s alright though just plain odd. Cybercat (786), Georgia, USA
