legion242 (1572), Richardson, Texas, USA Feb 21, 2008 I would have thought that I would really like a malt-bomb, but this just wasn’t pulled off well enough for my tastes. boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 21, 2008 Bottle... Poured ruby with a thin head. Roasted malt aroma. Highly carbonated, with flavors caramel hops and malt to balance. Has a full body and the flavors are really amped. Chalky aftertaste. cathcacr (586), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 20, 2008 Candied aroma, small rapidly dissipating large-bubble head, very clean dark amber appearance, and prominent fruity-sugary-sweetness in the flavor profile. Actually quite like a number of ales I tried at the Holiday Ale fest. Like an amped-up brown ale. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Feb 20, 2008 22oz Bottle @ Coles Buffalo NY.Pours medium to light brown. Nice roasted malt aroma. Roasted malts & some alcohol & biter tongue tickle upfront followed by slight chocolate malt in the finish. Decent RAYBOY01 (1812), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 20, 2008 Great bright amber pour with white head atop. The nose is roasted malts and a whiff of alcohol. First impression is a slight smoky quality. Fairly substantial hoppiness acompanies the roasty malt sweetness well. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Decent and easy to drink. fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Feb 19, 2008 liquorloft tally. an uninspired brew that is unoffensive but still simple. aroma of malt and a little more malt, no hops to be found. taste is a sweet malt, very light hops, and similar to coke cola bitterness and flavor on the swallow. palate was the shining characteristic, where the flavor said it should be thin and quick this beer proved to have some decent body to it. the pour showed a heavy lacing on the glass. i think i just expected a little more than was given but still a well balanced and easy drinking brew. guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA Feb 19, 2008 Reddish amber appearance with a small tan head and decent lacing. Soft fruit, caramel and toffee in the sweet malt aroma. Taste starts the same way, but floral hops quickly saturate the palate. Medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel with a dry, bitter, lingering finish. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA Feb 19, 2008 Pours clear amber with a decent off-white head. Caramel, soap, brown sugar, figs, and dough. Some nuttiness and toasty malt that you would expect for a brown ale, but with ore spice and hops, with figs, dark fruit, and the Laginitas fruity/sweet taste that seems to be in all their beers. The beer was all over the place.
