Smells of nice strong malts and alcohol. Pours a dark amber color with a thick brown head. Taste is bitter hops with a nice light malt flavor. Very tasty

Too much malt. Way heavy thick beer. Sure there are some flavors in there that pop out but it’s not fun to drink more than a glass of this.

Pours a dark reddish brown colour with a medium sized off white head. Aroma is noticeably nutty, light biscuit malts. I found the taste to be very pleasent, not that stroner- a lighter mouthfeel with semi sweet flavors of trail mix, carmel and peanut butter.

Very smooth and drinkable. A well-balanced beer with flavors of caramel, peat, and a touch of hoppy bitterness.

22oz bottle: Ruby-brown pour with a thick, everlasting head. The sides of the glass are completely covered with thick cobwebs of foam as the beer is drank. Husky malts weigh down both the aroma and body. Muddled and heavy, definition is hard to discern. A generic bitterness works to coat the tongue with resin. This beer is hard to pull individual flavors from - I get some burnt caramel and semi-sweet chocolate, but even these are hard to pull out. I mean, it is a flavorful beer, but the everything just kind of collides into a mess of sweet malt and rindy bitterness.

Bottle from South Bay Drugs. There was a decent amount of heading paired with a reddish mahogany color that I could already tell this was nothing special. The flavor had an upfront malt backbone with almost no sign of hops and the aroma is easily to be the same. Okay stuff but it seems Lagunitas keeps releasing boring stuff when I’m expecting some heavy hitter formulas.

The aroma is a little sweet, toasty and a hint of cookie. The head is off white, creamy, excellent lacing and mostly diminishing. The color is dark golden brown with hints of red. The initial flavor is a little sour, some bitter, hard to describe the flavors it’s a very good beer. The body is medium, the texture creamy and the carbonation soft.

Got it at Frugal’s also I see zappa. Dark amber pour, decent cream head. Very malty nose. Quite malty in the mouth, some roast, a bit sweet. Some caramel and toffee and just a bit of hops. Reminded me a little of an English strong ale or Scotch ale. Really not bad at all.
