zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA Aug 5, 2008 Taste 8/8 Bottle(?date). Looks: Clear dark bronze. Head laces with a nice yeasty/bubble mix. Aroma: Caramel, lots of sweet malt, mild floral. Taste: Nice, medium bodied brew. Quite drinkable. Mild hops spice, with mostly a malt presence. Great deal for $3.99 , 7.2% abv, very drinkable bomber. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Aug 5, 2008 Beautiful red amber color. Rather than the hop, this beer from Lagunitas lingers on the caramel, only dweller in the aroma section; stronger caramel flavor, some sticky sugars, and quite strong bitterness. Good, but I’m used to a less caramelly flavor, and more aromatic, resiny or fruity hops. changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 26, 2008 Here’s yet another quality $4 bomber from these guys. Pours a deep amber color with a thin foamy off-white head that sticks around. Aroma is plums, caramel and an ever so slight trace of alcohol. The taste is floral hops, fruits, a little sugary, with sweet caramel malt. Finishes slightly bitter and dry. This isn’t quite as good as the Lucky 13 I had last week but it’s still very tasty. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Jul 26, 2008 Deep copper color with a medium beige head. Raisin, malt and toffee in the smell with light hops. Flavor is of raisin and caramel. Light hop flavor creates a decent balance with the sweetness. mmhnto (31), Lisle, Illinois, USA Jul 25, 2008 Wrote a nice review for this one which RateBeer promptly "ate". This bottle was probably oxidized. I’ve had this beer before and loved it. TheCaptain (526), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle- Copper brown pour with foam off white head. Love FZ but not necessarily the beer. However, it was rather refreshing and like moses mentioned reminded me of a belgian. Some spice and hops with a dry hop finish. Decent body and a good blend. benwa420 (43), Aspen, Colorado, USA Jul 16, 2008 out the bottle. Pours semi dark amber color with a thin white hesd. A little spice to th taste along with hops. nice finish almost floral but not fruity. Good job Lagunitas TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Jul 10, 2008 Bottle. Copper pour with a short fizzy tan head. Nose is caramel, soft fruit, spices, sweet malts and almost dessert-like. Taste is hoppy, spicy, slight floral with yeast notes, caramel, sweet malts, and dark fruit. Body is thick and slightly creamy with some lingering bitterness. Carbonation is moderate. Finishes with more sweet malts, caramel, spices, soft hops and dark fruit notes. Tasty!
