Dark amber color with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel malt and some fruit/berries. Flavor of sweet malts and hops.

A dark amber beer with a bit of off-white head on top. There is a nice caramel and toffee sweetness with a touch of cocoa and dark fruit. Definitely a bit of oxidation, but not really the cardboard variety. Just a touch of citrus peel on the flavor to go with some other sweeter fruits like raisins. A bit of chocolate/cocoa, toffee, and caramel. Some subtle oxidation, but like the nose, nothing that really detracts from the beer.

reebtogi (2197) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 12, 2011
650mL bottle poured a deep amber color with a big off-white head that left some spotted lacing behind. Aroma of lightly roasted malts and caramel. Big malty sweet taste with some hints of chocolate and a mild hoppy bitterness in the finish. Nicely carbonated, but the body is a little thin leaving a little disappointing mouthfeel. A good beer, but nothing special.

oobawa (593) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 30, 2011
Fitfully off-kilter for a Zappa-inspired ale. The sweetness takes hold as soon as the liquid hits your palate, delving into near sweet-tea territory, before gaining a British fruit/nut/yeast backbone that does nothing to alleviate the cloying flavors piling up on your tongue. The American Brown Ale finish you so desire never comes along, leaving you with a pint much too sweet to savor. (1/09)

GregClow (2667) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 18, 2011
Bottle shared with jerc & mabel - Dec 22/08. Sunset amber-red with a small off-white head. Fairly sweet aroma - brown sugar and barley candy - with fruity, apricot-accented hops. Flavour is big and balanced, with interesting fruit notes, and a slightly astringent finish. Booze comes through a bit strong as it ends as well.

Still trying to become #1 Lagunitas rater. If someone stumbles upon this while looking over Lagunitas stuff, and you have Lag brews I’ve not rated, hit me up! This was fun to crack open and share, but definitely past its prime. Nose sweet malty. Taste oxidized but drinkable.

Thanks to Lagunitas fan for this. Believe it was a few years old? Huge Apricot nose. THinnish body with the apricot taking center stage in the mouth. A bit non descript, though still very drinkable.

Oh so much thanks to Lagunitasfan for providing this beer from my oh so favorite brewery in the whole world. Pours almost non-transparent, which doesn’t make much sense...dark amber...head is weird and ugly, one-sided and stupid. Nose was a few days off, oxidation, vegital, watery caramel. Flavors are pretty watery and non-existent, really. Flavors arent overly off though... some burnt sugar and other things sticking around but everything else pretty much lost at this point. Not offensive though.

2 year-old plus bottle. Deep brown with orange tints and a hgh, frothy head. Rich caramel and some chocolate in the aroma, slightly oxidized, with raisins. Flavors of caramel, chocolate, raisins and other dired fruits, alcohol, lots of bittr hops. Nice stuff. Very well integrated at this age.

Not a great beer at all, not terrible, I wouldnt buy it again. I was expecting substantially more. thin, had a weird off flavor, tasted like a kicked up brown ale.
