| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Another Lagunita’s release with a Zappa theme, Lumpy gravy came out reddish brown in color, and had a small one finger thick head that was very persistent. The aroma was toasty and malty, which was departure from the heavily hopped beers I have come to expect from this brewery. The taste was hard to pin down in terms of focus. At times it seemed malty and nutty like a Brown Ale, while others it tended towards being mineralized and crisp like a Bitter. The beer felt rich and stick in the mouth, but the incoherent taste came through again in an aftertaste wavering between sweet and metallic. Glad I got to try this one, but I’ve had better offerings from them before. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark
