| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 22, 2008 Pours a transparent dark copper amber with a spotty-lacing froth of off-white head. Lightly sweet toasted caramely malty nose has a touch of piny hops and light fruity esters. Body starts with a decent fullness and sweet doughy caramel maltiness and a mild balance of grapefruity bittering hops toward a chewy, bittersweet finish. A decent brew, but could use a bigger hop presence. goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Clear brown, light tan fizzy head. Nose held soft notes of vanilla toast and citrus with an underlying brown sugar tone. Soft hoppy flavors ride over light notes of dark fruit, vanilla caramel and hints of chocolate. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, bittersweet finish. Not bad, not great. Thanks for sharing, artusory! TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA

Nutty bread dough aroma along with some sweet bock-like notes of brown sugar, raisins. Palate is smooth, rich, malty, with some pine. Very impressive. I don’t get the booziness others noted.
