I was expecting another IPA in the Zappa line, I was wrong. Pours mahogany / bronze with a rocky beige head. The aroma has sweet caramel malt, pineapple, cream and light tropical hoppiness. Medium body that’s a bit oily and has very sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with toasted malt with a good deal of woodiness. The finish adds some spice, woody hops and a mineral taste. This is okay, but far from the enjoyability of the other’s dedicated to Zappa albums.

Amber-chestnut brown body with a creamy, amber-tinged head. Quite carbonated. Slight yeasty aroma intermingles with some alcohol, and light malt. Yeast and alcohol meld well in flavor. Must use a Belgian Strong Ale/High Gravity Yeast. Alcohol apparent, little detectable hopping. Sweet maple syrupy malt.

Sample at Barley’s Smokehouse. The beer is a clear ruby-amber color with a medium thin light khaki head that dissipates slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma is toasted malt and sweet fruit. Medium-bodied and clean with flavors of toasted malt, brown sugar and hops, plus a hint of cherry cough medicine. The finish is sweet and fruity and leaves a lingering hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

A good straight forward malty brown ale with a spicy hop finish. The palate is fairly sweet and enjoyable.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and over ripe fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and fruit, as well as well as a bit of oxidation, leading to a dry metallic finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

clear dark red, fine beige head, drippy lace, sweet dark candy caramel aroma with a touch of fruit, dark caramel flavor, caramel sweetness is well balanced by an earthy character, not as sweet as the aroma would indicate,

Clear, red amber body; pilowy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, and some alcohol. Flavor is caramely and sweet, with moderate hoppiness and some alcohol warmth. Finishes a bit roasty and warm. Not bad.
