daleharshman (75), San Diego, California, USA Jun 29, 2009 Updated: Jun 30, 200912 ounce bottle from local liquor shop. This was marked down to $1.39 and still says "Limited Release" -- it might be old?? Pours a golden orange with thin white head. Hoppy aroma includes pineapple and a fair amount of booze. Flavor has some citrusy/pineapple-type hops. It’s bitter, but the booze taste dominates. Yeah, this does not taste as fresh as I would expect. It’s probably just old -- will try to re-rate with a fresh bottle. kenb (984), Oregon, USA Jun 27, 2009 12 oz bottle via Hagen. Pours a near clear copper with a massive beige head that lingers. Nose is strong citrus hops..grapefruit, pine and orange. Taste starts and ends sweet actually, with lingering resiny pineapple/pine syrup in the aftertaste. In between there is lots of orange, tangerine and grapefruit. Body is full. Carbonation is light/medium. I would prefer less malt and more hops, as this is more barleywine tasting than IIPA tasting... Listigovers (40), Ontario, Canada Jun 27, 2009 650ml bottle. As one of the first double IPA’s I’ve tried, it was good, but the malt covered up much of the hoppiness. While the bottle stated 70+ IBU it felt more like it was in the 50’s because of the large amount of malt in the beer. I feel like a double IPA is supposed to be unbalanced, and when you try to balance out the extreme hoppiness with extreme maltiness you lose the appeal. Maddog (174), Kettering, Ohio, USA Jun 27, 2009 A very good beer and a good value as well for a 1.5 IPA. Very full of floral hops on the nose, the pour was clear amber. I was very impressed over the amount of hops that came through the nice amount of malt in the body. A very nicely hopped beer in the citrus realm. I would not put this in the same league as Dreadnaught or 90 Min. or some of the other legends, but this beer was nice, very easy in consumption. Cavie (707), Arlington, Texas, USA Jun 24, 2009 Clear orange. Hoppy aroma but well balanced. Lots of sweet hops with another style added for depth. Ooo lots of edge of the tongue bitterness that fades into a solid finish. Lovely 1more4dessert (225), Upstate, New York, USA Jun 24, 2009 clear amber

Orange with white head. Aroma of malt and alcohol. Flavor is more malt and alcohol, hop spices and caramel carruthm (889), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 19, 2009 Bottle. orange clear pour with a medium head. clean but surprisingly mild hop aroma for a self proclaimed imperial IPA. Still, pretty solid.
