bonk0076 (27), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Nov 10, 2009 Hazy amber in color with a slight head that quickly disapears. Aroma of citrus, caramel and hops. Flavor is pine needles with a touch of citrus and finishes long with the hops Svesse (2601), Hässelby, Sweden Nov 10, 2009 (Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, apricots, a hint of pine needles and caramel malt to match the fruity hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of orange, dried apricots, some grapefruit and pine needles. Solid caramel malt to balance the generous hop character. Nice, tasty and very well balanced. TKA300 (99), Carbondale, Illinois, USA Nov 7, 2009 Pretty good, and a little unexpected. I expected a lot of hop character but the intense citrus taste was a little bit of a surprise. It was really hoppy and was actally pretty refreshing. stobbe74 (662), Denmark Nov 4, 2009 Bottle, 12 fl. oz. Pours a golden beer with an orange/offwhite head. The aroma is hops with citrus. The flavor is likewise hops with citrus. The palate is bitter. Overall a simple but good beer. washoppinin (19), Florida, USA Oct 31, 2009 When you have finished a grapefruit that is covered in honey and you squeeze it into your mouth, this is what you taste with the Maximus IPA. Love the big piney hop notes and creamy malt texture. jimmay (179), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Oct 24, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pours amber in colour, with decent head. Aroma and flavour are intensely hoppy, primarily floral/herbal in nature. One kick ass IIPA. hombrepalo (748), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 22, 2009 12oz bottles from a sixer from Whole Foods. Another kick ass IIPA from Lagunitas. Strong grapefruit and pine nose. big malt heavy bottom that is almost chewable it’s so dense. but it has to be, to hold it’s own against the huge PNW hop bite. Quite easy to drink over and over again.
gorditoabd (162), San Diego, California, USA Oct 20, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear golden copper with a finger or two of dissipating head that laces nicely as it goes. Aroma of hops, spice and citrus, with a hint of floral. Initial taste is interestingly smooth, with the bitterness coming on the finish. Up front it’s caramel sweetness, breadiness, citrus, and then bitter hop finish. Nice IPA... very nice. Lagunitas doesn’t do a wide range of stuff... but it does what it does do well... Go ahead and diagram that last sentence...
