COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

12 oz bottle: Aroma is a nice caramel malt with a floral and a bit of herbal hops. Appearance is a nice golden orange with a nice white head. Taste is very nice and complex with a hop front end and a nice mellow malt flavor on the back. Palate is very smooth but complex enough to keep it very interesting. Pairs well with food.

Pours a mostly transparent orange, with a good amount of dense yellowish foam. Aroma is grassy and hoppy, a bit of citrus fruit. Taste is a bit piney and sweet, noticable alcohol burn, but not as strong on the hops as I was expecting.

Bottle. Pours a nice orange color with a frothy off white head. Aroma is qutie nice, filled with hoppy aromas of grapefruit, pineapple juice, orange, floral notes, a touch of breadiness and caramel malts. The flavor is equally hoppy, and not that bitter actually for a DIPA, this is more on the hop fruity side, with loads of pineapple juice, grapefruit, some pine, some floral notes, the sweeter citrus fruits like orange and tangerine, the breadiness and also some caramel malts. The body is medium with a lightly dry mouthfeel. Overall a really tasty DIPA, it litteraly almost smells like tropical multifruit juice!

I actually didn’t realize this was an Imperial/Double until I just read the description on this site. They claim 72 IBUs, and if that’s the case it’s very well masked behind a malty smoothness not usually found in stronger IPAs. A very drinkable summer beer.
