COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2006 Decent head with good carbonation. Lasts for quite a while. Lighter than expected aroma with some cherry, citrus and floral hops. Medium orange in color. Plentiful hops and bitterness in the flavor. Some floral. Could use some more malts for balance. Bitter dry finish. Very crisp with a lingering hops aftertaste. Decent but there are many better IIPA’s out there. Mine seemed to be a little lacking in the hops department compared to some other reviewers. Second try the hops are more pronounced and juicy.

This was all hps, Top to bottom. Poured a dark tan body with lots of grapefruit and hops in the nose, and in the aftertaste. It was even better in summer.

One of those beers I was shocked that hasnt been rated. Almost a semi dark amber color. Very enticing hop and pine aroma. Leads to a big citrus flavor. I think the hop character was nicley subdued. Like the three bears it was just right. Mouthfeel is smooth with a nice touch of malt. Ends with a nice lingering bitter taste, outstanding.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2005 this was an excellent example of an imperial ipa. althought it loses points for not being stronger in alcohol. Great balanced hops flavor start to finish

Mostly diminishing, creamy, off-white head. Extremely hazy amber/brown color which I can’t see through even when put up to light. Aroma could be stronger for such a big beer. I detect a small amount of piney hops which is accompanied by a medium maltiness, and a hint of orange citrus. The flavor has a light orange citrus sweetness. The bitterness is very strong, which I very much like, but doesn’t have that piney bite which makes it well balanced. Body is more thick than watery, but not as thick as I would prefer. Overall, a execelent IPA, but I would call it a one and a half IPA.

(Bottle 65 cl) Beautiful, clear amber with a creamy, thick head leaving some lacework. Distinct aroma hops in the nose. Flavour of sweet caramel malt with a very solid, hoppy finish. A very typical Double IPA with a routinely touch. 221005

22 oz bomber. Golden orange beer, thick, fluffy tan head and sticky lace. Hoppy aroma, fresh, lightly grassy, moderate resinousness and a massive sweet citrusy aroma. Orange and a bit of juiciness. Some pale malt aroma backs up all of the hops, but doesn’t interfere with it. Flavour is quite a bit sweeter than the aroma would suggest. Light caramel, cookie dough and biscuity malts underneath a juicy citrus hop flavour. Moderate bitterness up front but presents a lingering bitter palate. Nice, easy-drinking beer.
