BMan1113VR (2758), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Dec 16, 2008 Pours with a large, off-white foamy head and good lacing. Clear, penny colored body. Aroma of pine, brown sugar, butter, dark fruits. Seems like this bottle might be aged a bit too much for a DIPA. Taste is a bit weak with crystal malt, raisins and hops. Watery mouthfeel and light bubbles. Good price though at 3.99 for a 22oz bottle. clasley (153), Arkansas, USA Dec 15, 2008 650 ml bottle. Pours a clear copper with a nice off-white head. Good pine and citrus in the nose. Solid malt base offset by a goodly amount of hop bitterness. Decent balance. Tad sweet in the finish with a hint of lingering bitterness. Lagunitasfan (432), San Diego, California, USA Dec 7, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Orange honey color. Clear. Quick bright head settles to dense and creamy, then dissipates to a sticky looking slick. Smell is supersweet sugar pine. Candy and hops. Super thick in the mouth. Sugar sweet at first to bitter hops to just bitter. Almost aspirin like, but not in a bad way. Im wondering how fresh this bottle is. Id better try a couple more later this week. Used to be my all time fav. 100th rating. j12601 (1153), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear deep orange to amber color with a medium white head. Lovely floral hop notes with a thick malt backbone, and possibly a hint of pineapple. Medium thick body with a good amount of fine carbonation leading into a deep bitter finish. rds (224), USA Nov 29, 2008 An attractive dark amber glow with a creamy head. Noticeable whiffs of citrus and malt. Good hops and malt notes, with a fine clean finish. aaronbr (50), Palo Alto, California, USA Nov 28, 2008 Poured from a 22-oz bottle into a glass. Pours an orange-gold, really nice coloring.
A very solid IPA. Hoppy, but not overpowering. Caramel malt on the finish. Very good - about what I’d expect from Lagunitas. I could see myself drinking a few of these. Bronzan (25), Cotati, California, USA Nov 28, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Good aroma and drinkability. Kind of a caramelly finish. Not terribly bitter. KnutAlbert (3111), Oslo, Norway Nov 27, 2008 Bottle.
Aromatic hops, caramel, honey. Intense sweetness. A little burned sugar.
Full bodied. More of a Barley Wine than an IPA IMHO.
