Pine, bready caramel, fairly bright and fresh with some grapefruit and mango notes. Orange with a tall, white head. Sweet, chewy toasted caramel witha nice spruce and fruity orange and flowery rose flavor. Not very bitter. Medium-full body, oily texture. Thanks to Brigadier for sharing.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz. bottle. Deep golden color with a medium sized white head. Pine, resin, lysol aromatics. Acrid/floral and fruity/resinous hop flavors over fairly sweet malt. Some alcohol heat and a chemical spiciness in the finish with a lasting bitterness. Mouthfeel is heavy medium, fairly dry.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Real clear, dark orange pour. Nice hoppy, spruce pine aroma typical of IPAs, which sweetened with some swishing. I expected much more bitterness, but what I got was ground up kiwi seeds. There was a hidden fruit in the body, like a fig of sorts. Other than these minute standouts, this was a pretty typical IPA. Not terribly different. The finish is merely bitter and doesn’t grow into anything else of interest. This only gets a 3.5 because I’m a big fan of IPAs.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice, clear amber body with a creamy, off-white head. Some lacing. The aroma is grapefruit and pine. Moderade bitterness, good caramel backbone (especially at the end), nice g-fruit hop flavor. Finish is slightly soapy.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a pale copper golden, with a thin tuft of white head. Nose is nutty and malty sweet with no real hop action. Flavor is pretty tame. Some honey like sweetness and a mild residual bitterness. I guess the bar has been set way too high on double ipa’s for some brewers.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
a little activity inside after the slow pour and then a mild amber sand stone color emerges with little head carring a verry jumpy taste with a bold brite aromma and a small after taster of pine trees.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle, sixer. Cloudy golden pour, vicious chunky head that quickly faded. Very piney aroma, marked orange tones. Smooth and almost like it wants to be a little sweet with a kick in the ass of hops, hops are mostly sticky pine, but short aftertaste, fruity hops tones. Nice and even body. Not at all harsh, just very abrupt and punchy. Indeed, much better than I anticipated.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 3, 2006 12oz bottle pours amber with a nice fluffy white head that didn’t stay long.. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, caramel malts, and some nce sweet blends of those. Flavor is nice full bodied caramel with an assault of pine and grapefruit. Finish is some caramel sweetness but mostly the bitter pine and grapefruit hops..Not bad!

22 oz bottle from trade with acertain
Shared with malachi and hezron. I was looking forward to this one. It poured with a rich white had. The liquid underneath was an opaque golden with visible carbonation. Hints of grapefruit, pine needles and a general flowery bouquet wafted out of the glass towards my nose. My first impression upon taking a sip was of caramel or toffee dipped pine with a nice balance of bitterness and hops. The finish was great; my only complaint being that it could have lasted a little longer. I look forward to getting my hands on another bottle - this is an IPA I could drink regularly.
