COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

22oz Bottle. Pours orange colorwith decent white head. Nice grapefruity hoppy aroma. Decent flavor - sweet malts and citrusy hops. Good malty citrusy flavor and mouthfeel with a good bitter finish. Body was thin for me - I was expecting more of a big IIPA, and this is more like a kicked-up IPA. Good beer tho.

Bottle. Shared with Tupalev at Volo post Ireland victory. Golden orange body, moderate white head. Very resiny, slightly piney aroma. Didn’t pick out as much complexity out of the aroma as I might have out of a snifter or my usual Unibroue glass. Mental note for future ratings. Surprisingly well balanced. Fairly bitter, leafy hops with very slight citrus and resin. Medium palate. Quite quaffable for a strongish beer, alcohol doesn’t make itself known until its too late.

Better than average beer, perhaps the near-room temperature on a very humid day did not do it justice. Had at Volo Cafe. Bomber needed to and was shared. Good retained head. Floral hoppy, initially grapefruity aroma. Smooth

Bottle at cafe volo- Sparkling amber body, orange hues. head is thin and beige. Some lacing here. Aromas are hoppy, piney, bready, caramel. Taste is citrus and hops bitterness, with some grapefruit and pine for good measure. Slight burn, and an alcohol bite in the finish. GLad I got to try this one. Shared with Radek and Dougshoemaker. Cheers!

(22oz bottle) Sampled at Cafe Volo, Toronto. Pours a large, frothy, almonde head with a deep orange body. Nose is very hoppy, leafy-fresh with undertones of citrus. This is a very bitter hop flavour with a mild bite of alcohol. I was expecting another level of dimension but its not there. This is a fine beer but not worth the extra $$$ over Hairy Eyes which seemed like a bargain.

Bomber. Pours a fairly dark orange. Aroma is sweet and malty with a hoppy presence. Lots of malt up front giving way to some hoppy bitterness towards the finish of this brew. Nice strong presence from both the malt and the hops. Throw in a little sweetness for good measure.

Poured a copper color with a small white head. Aroma of hops and alcohol with malt to back it up. I was suprised to smell alc with this low of an ABV. malty flavor with hops running through it. Nice bitter finish.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2005 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry at Bar Volo. Pours a hazy amber with a frothy average white head. Earthy aroma heavy on the hops with some citrus. Flavour wasn’t as hoppy as I expected -- bitter, spicy and a bit malty. I found I could taste the alcohol a bit too much. May have been served a little too warm. A good IPA, I would definitely get it again, but ultimately I was a little dissapointed.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2005 Bottle (650ml) At Volo, shared with blankboy. Pours golden, clear, lots of bubbles. Head slightly off-white, quick diminishing. Flavour mild to start, then the hops kick in - heavy hop on palate and linger. Again, I’m not a big hop-head, but if you are, you’ll be happy with this. I don’t get much maltiness in this one, or citrus either for that matter.

Aroma of peach nectar. Appears crystal clear copper-orange. Flavor is bitter hops over sweet peach/apricot. Palate medium-light, nice.
