3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The flavor had some similarities to an amber ale...very strong malt presence and sweetened with carmel. Aroma was piney and some notes of grapefruit. Alcohol was somewhat noticable but not overwhelming. 7.5% got to me pretty well. Palate was the best part....well balance of dryness and biterness.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Amber, with a thick tan head. Sweet hoppy aroma, almost like the sweetness in fruit or flowerís aroma. Medium body with a bigger malt flavor than anticipated. A bit sweet and lingering in the finish.

22oz - Aroma is fresh floral and grapefruit hops with a little malt tossed in for good measure. Pours transparent orange with a small head and great lacing. Flavor matches aroma. Palate is crisp and tart. Very tasty IIPA.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Lighter amber color, kind of a vibrant oragne color; only slightly hazey. Lively carbonation with a lasting pale yellow head that stays around and leaves a generous amount of lacing. Aroma is
subtle, but complex with hints of citrus. Flavor is sweet citrus (not overpowering) and the bitterness is good, but subdued at first and slowly builds up through the sweetness. The 72.41 IBU doesnít nail you all at once. The bitterness lingers through the finish and becomes a little dry. Alcohol is very well integrated with only a hint in the flavor toward the end. Gets better and better the more you drink. Lagunitas is another brewery that is quickly gaining my favor!
12 oz bottle (7.5% alcohol), $ from Belmont Party Supply.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear orange colour. Off white head with broad lacing. Big aroma. Hoppy and malty flavour, like a true IPA. Lingering finish, you donít want it to leave. Itís warm and humid with thundershowers, like a Mashonaland afternoon. Perfect day for a Lagunitas Maximus. This is from the bottle. Iíve had it on draft at my local and itís even better

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Had never heard of Lagunitas, and just picked this up at Greenís. Damn glad I did. Poured to the expected golden orange with thick off-white head that stuck around for the whole glass, and left excellent lacing. Aroma was very hoppy citrus, mostly grapefruit and lemons, and taste was more of the same. Palate was very bitter and dry, but with a hint of sweet malt. I had the bomber, and drank it slowly, so that at the end, I was beginning to feel the effects of the 7.5% alcohol. This was a mosyt excellent beer, and I hope to try more.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Good citrus aroma, a decent blend of lemon and lime. Very orangey look with thin head. Good taste with slight alcohol hit. Decently smooth and very drinkabale. Good balance. Pretty good IIPA.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Orange body with a large, light orange head. Flavor is intensely hoppy with a nice hint of sweet caramel malt. Nice, fruity aroma is not overwhelmed by the intense hops experienced in the taste.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 12, 2007 it smells frothy, like fresh rain in a hop field, citrus behind. deep gold approaching orange. thin head. the top of my mouth tastes citrus, while the bottom is kind of piney and a little sour. sleek across the tongue. A delicate balance to work a body light as this with the strength of hops and alcohol. & at $2.50 a bomber on sale, where in the ratings does value figure in?

An observation about beer is that fruit flies in the area will quickly appear when a good beer is opened, and this one made them fly in immediately.
Pours a large, long lasting, creamy head over a copper colored body.
Light doughy malt and pine resin hop aroma.
Well balanced flavor with a long dry finish. A good one.
