At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

Bottle from santa: Pours a nice copper color with a nice, slightly off white head. Smell is seems pleasant, some pine, citrus, and maybe some caramel hidden in the back. Taste is piney, with a hint of citrus. In no way is this IPA overpowering. Itís well balanced and very well done.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2009 Not too sweet and undercarbonated like other Impy IPA. Great flavour and dry without any overbearing, unseemly bite. Clearly an IPA but a steadier experince from nose to finish like some of the great dry pale ales are. Great especially give the affordabe price. Only drawback is an odd aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours hazy copper color with a big white head that stick around a while. Aroma is floral hops, pine, citrus. Flavor is some malt, grapefruit, pine. Palate is medium bodied, with some stickiness. I would have rated it higher but itís more of an IPA than IIPA.

Hoppy and malty. Some odd malt flavors. A little too sweet. The hops are nice and hide the alcohol decently.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a coppery orange with a pale yellow-white head that held up quite well. Very nice lacing. Wonderful aroma of pine and grapefruits. These same traits come out in the flavor as well along with some caramel sweetness. Dry, bitter finish but not excessively so. This is a real nice IPA.

22 oz bomber shared with kdrobb2k. Pours a light orange coppery color with a nice white frosting for a head. Aroma is piney hoppy with grapefruit overtones. Flavor is piney as well with grapefruit flavor. Excellent west coast style IPA.

Very dark cloudy orange, not real hoppy aroma. Head is very dry and hoppy. The beer is also excellently dry and hoppy, but smooth in the finish to not kill your taste buds. Great.

Pours a very clear orange with a thick off-white head. Aroma is malty, with a touch of floral hops, and loads of citrus hops - some grapefruit, sweet (mandarin) orange, apricot. The flavor is more of the same - amazing fresh citrus and hop taste, sweet malts than balance the hops quite well, and hints of caramel and honey on the middle of the tongue from those sweet malts. The finish is bitter, grapefruity, and somewhat dry with a long, cloying, hoppy after-taste. The mouthfeel is very nice - smooth and velvety. The carbonation is just right - it isnít sharp on the tongue, but does present itself by subtly tickling the middle and back of the tongue. A rather good IPA.

22oz bottle-pours a thick to rocky light tan head that laces with gold color. Aroma is lots of sweet citrus hops, zesty, with some bitterness, secondary medium malt. Taste is lots of sweet citrus hops-grapefruit, bitter, a bit raw, zesty, pine, secondary medium malt. Mild/OK carbonation.

Pour is orange with a small white head that thined out to large bubbles. Aroma is a nice helping of pine/citrus hops. Very clean and refreshing. Flavor is also a very nice crisp hop with a malty biscutness. Looks great smells better and taste even better. No real alcohol presence but I know its there. Pretty darn good beer.
