At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

(On bottle)Impressive title, but kind of a quiet drink. Has a good hopping, nice berrÿ/sugarish aroma and a full malty finish, but not enough to be a real kicker.

Hazy amber with a thick, tanned head. Very hoppy aroma (well, of course... it’s an IIPA..) with hints citrus, grass and flowers. The bitter finish lasts...

Bottle. Copper colored with creamy white head dragging fine laze. Aroma is "typical American IPA": Cat pee, citrus etc. Flavor is malty with hints of apricot, strawberry. Finishes with intense sharp and pleasant bitterness. Gets a bit watery in the end, but nonetheless very good.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2006 Pours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aromas of big hop action, sweet malts, and more hops. Flavor has some caramel malty tastes with nice grapefruit and floral hop taste.

Clear copper with a light tan head. Piney c-hop nose, fairly sweet, really resiny. Sweet, but not overly so--nice caramel notes, quite bitter, with grapefruit and orange.

It wasn’t a BAD beer. but it just felt like something was missing. i felt it was decent, but it lacked anything really special. like a good guitar solo with no emotion. good, but not great.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2006 Decent head with good carbonation. Lasts for quite a while. Lighter than expected aroma with some cherry, citrus and floral hops. Medium orange in color. Plentiful hops and bitterness in the flavor. Some floral. Could use some more malts for balance. Bitter dry finish. Very crisp with a lingering hops aftertaste. Decent but there are many better IIPA’s out there. Mine seemed to be a little lacking in the hops department compared to some other reviewers. Second try the hops are more pronounced and juicy.

This was all hps, Top to bottom. Poured a dark tan body with lots of grapefruit and hops in the nose, and in the aftertaste. It was even better in summer.

One of those beers I was shocked that hasnt been rated. Almost a semi dark amber color. Very enticing hop and pine aroma. Leads to a big citrus flavor. I think the hop character was nicley subdued. Like the three bears it was just right. Mouthfeel is smooth with a nice touch of malt. Ends with a nice lingering bitter taste, outstanding.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2005 this was an excellent example of an imperial ipa. althought it loses points for not being stronger in alcohol. Great balanced hops flavor start to finish
