Commercial Description:
At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

An attractive dark amber glow with a creamy head. Noticeable whiffs of citrus and malt. Good hops and malt notes, with a fine clean finish.

Poured from a 22-oz bottle into a glass. Pours an orange-gold, really nice coloring. A very solid IPA. Hoppy, but not overpowering. Caramel malt on the finish. Very good - about what I’d expect from Lagunitas. I could see myself drinking a few of these.

22 oz. bottle. Good aroma and drinkability. Kind of a caramelly finish. Not terribly bitter.

Bottle. Aromatic hops, caramel, honey. Intense sweetness. A little burned sugar. Full bodied. More of a Barley Wine than an IPA IMHO.

Pours dark/deep copper with frothy off white head. Smells piney and citrusy. Plenty of sugary sweet malts present in the nose as well. Tastes bittersweet with overpowering hops, and thick full flavor of malts. Balanced, and nice , as it has a very full flavor and warms all the way down with the medicinal alcohol. Piney and citrusy, yet bread grains and thick cereal malts battle to the end. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours a dark orange brown. Smelled pretty piney, with floral and malty tints. Tasted mainly hoppy, piney, with definite malt notes, slightly boozy. Really solid IPA especially for the price.

Bottle. Now this is more like it . . . you go, Barry! Pours orange yellow with a medium head. Aroma heavy on flowers, ripe orange, and malt. Flavor is classic Lagunitas: heavy on the malt, but you can tell that some quality hops are present as well. Overall, I prefer Maximus to Lagunitas many ASA-style “red” beers. Yes, it was too malty for me, and yes, I STILL do not think Lagunitas’ beers have a very desirable palate, but at least the flavor on this one was tasty all the way down.

Crushed with Jakebra. A mother of a IPA. Warms as it goes down. Yum hops on the nose, same in the flavor. Very sweet but balanced finish. Kick-ass IPA.
