At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

22 oz bottle pours a semi-hazy orange with thin patchy white head. Aroma is resinous with a pith note and a hint of banana esters. Taste is biscuit, caramel, and floral pith; up front bitter with a mild, slick finish. Seems like a cross between a red and a hop bomb.

On tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a clear orange with a medium sized, off white head. Aroma has lots of fruity, citrussy hops, grape fruit, ripe orange, caramel malts. Nice and fresh. Taste is nicely balanced between caramel sweetness and a rather high hop bitterness. Average high carbonation and an oily body.

0.355l bottle. Clear orange body, white head. Aroma and taste of biscuit, toffee, toast, pine, berries, citruses and a hint of roast. Sweet upfront but has a nice hop bitterness in the end. Not a westcoast style hop bomb, but I like it.

Tap@Søernes. Pours almost clear light amber with offwhite tight head. Aroma of malt, bread, biscuit and caramel and hoppy with a fruity resinous, citrus aroma. Taste is malty and semi-sweet with bread, biscuit and caramel yet hoppy with fruity, grassy, resin and citrus. Finish is balanced semi-dry bitter.

12 oz bottle shared by ebone1988 for the stupid fucking book. Thanks asshole. This is a steamy pile of garbage. The pour is a dark clear golden orange with a thicker cap of off white head that falls to a film and leaves a few spots of lace. The aroma is fucking awful. This couldn’t smell more like a malt bombed amber ale if it was labeled as such. This is terrible. There is no hop presence, no bitterness, just malts and a lingering sign that Lagunitas should close their doors. Fuck. The flavor is also fucking terrible. God damnit. It’s all malt. What a surprise. for something I thought was going to be an IPA, boy was I in for a treat. No bitterness, no hops, nothing that resembles an IPA. The mouth feel is syrupy and thicker. There is a soft carbonation that really lets the malts tickle my taste buds in a way that makes me want to scrape them off with a rusty bayonet. This is terrible.

Bottle shared with koleminer20, for the book. Aroma is malt, floral, pine, tropical fruit, old. Appearance is amber golden, off white head, clear. Taste is not good. Malt bomb. Bitterness from the malt is apparent. Maybe some pine? Some citrus? I can’t get past the malt. This is not good. Mouthfeel is medium body, very light carbonation, malty bitter aftertaste. Overall, I’m glad I’m done with this brewery for the book, this beer and all of their others are incredibly disappointing.
