Not sure if this is a double IPA, but doesn't taste like one. Really nicely balanced beer and almost tastes like a session beer, doesn't seem like 8.9% ABV

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle - pours orange gold with a big lacy white head. You know it’s a big beer when you get a hit of the aroma from a distance during the pour. Aroma is pine, citrus, Carmel malt and lots of tropical fruits. Taste hits you with. Bitter twinge that got the saliva glands working. Very dry but with an over note of caramel. The palate is creamy and full and great. Like this one.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Direct. Grassy and citrus hop aromas. Lighter grass and herbal hop flavor profile. Not as juicy as ipa, or as intense as hop stoopid, but drinkable none the less.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer pours a clear golden amber color with a thick fluffy white head that left a lot of lacing around the glass. The aroma is hop heavy! I am picking up hop resin, pine, citrus, bread malts, and some tropical fruits. The aroma is just outstanding. The taste is full of floral and pine hops. There is quite a bit of citrus and grapefruit in there as well. Even with all the hops this is still well balanced with the bread malts. As you can imagine there is quite a bit of a hop bitterness in this beer. The finish is crisp and refreshing. I really enjoyed this beer and would highly recommend anyone to try it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Sweet fruity aroma. Balanced fruity taste, with some sharpness. Quite bitter finish. Good imperial IPA, but not the best I’ve had from Lagunitas.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle pours clear amber with 2 finger head. Nose is malty orange, grapefruit and some sticky pine resin and a bit of toasted bread. Taste is malt heavy, sweet round caramel and malty fruit with sticky orange, resin, and piney grapefrut, bitter. Finish is bitter, malty orange, some toast, resin. A bit too malty for my liking.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a beer can glass on 06.03.14.
A: See through amber/orange body. 2 1/2 finger white head. Fantastic lacing.
S: Lots of grapefruit. It also has burnt caramel/brown sugar.
T: Grapefruit and burnt caramel dominate. Flower and hop resin are subtle.
O: This was good, but it was more malt forward than I like. Maybe the bottle was old and the hops faded though.
