FlssmrBrewAlum (1079), Lisle, Illinois, USA Oct 8, 2008 22 oz. bomber from Binny’s (Orland Park, IL). Pours a fiery orange hazy hue with notes of grapefruity red prominent and a sign of the tastes to come. Small to medium head that dissipates significantly but still manages to lace anok amount. Aromas are largely citrus, strong grapefruit and lighter caramel malt notes that are pretty great. Taste is similar, large bitterness up front with grapefruit and lemony prominance, middle body shows signs of caramel and biscuity malts, moves quickly back to grapefruit and bitter hop notes. Finishes with a crisp bitterness, but not astringent. Fairly smooth for the style. Pretty great! Cheers! BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Oct 8, 2008 I got this because every single beer I’ve had from Lagunitas has been amazing, and this is no different! It pours a darker amber, with a retaining off white head. The aroma is classic IPA with some citrusy notes, and some alcohol on the nose. The flavor follows suit with huge hopps and a slight bite of alcohol on the finish. This is definitely one of the better IPA’s I’ve had in a while, being very well balanced and drinkable. Cheers! HungTuna (9), Seattle, Washington, USA does not count Oct 8, 2008 Fishing for Coho on Thorne Island in Alaska (pop. 115) and miraculously the general store had a healthy stock of Maximus to go with your typical macro sewer water. Now I know why. Paired with a fresh catch of Silver Salmon, the bitter fruits reveal themselves nicely with a dry hoppy finish. jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Oct 4, 2008 Ordinary in the glass, with a golden hue and some soapy lacing. Hop aromas dominate -- apricot, grapefruit. Same on the tongue. Good heft a balance, with lots of good caramel malts coming to the show. Overall, a sipper that contains nice floral, pit fruit notes throughout. v8powered (48), , Nevada, USA Oct 4, 2008 Very flowery hops with a nice aroma and great flavor. The hoppyness is well balanced and not very bitter. The cereal grains are very nice and balance the beer well. Very nice hoppy fruit flavor balanced with grain. This has to be the most enjoyable IPA I have had! thechandler (268), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Oct 4, 2008 Wowza. Aroma is sweetly hoppy. Flavor is, at first a rush of hops, but then you get a lot of that sweet malt flavor. Unlike any IPA Ive ever had. Very nice. Sweet with good strong hop flavor. Nice balance. I recommend. olek (20), København N, Denmark Oct 3, 2008 Bottle. Unclear amber-like. Sweet and grassy nose. Flavour is kind of caramel sweet with a dry bitter finish. A very simple and boring beer TheSponge (272), Lynnwood, Washington, USA Sep 30, 2008 1 ptin 6 oz. bottle purchased at Central Market in Mill Creek. Pours a beautiful amber color, with a hoppy/citrus aroma. Flavor: The same as the aroma, with just the right amount of bitterness.
