| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2008 Pours clear golden with a small head. Dried apricot, honeyed-malt-sweetness in the aroma. Flavor is similar. Malt and hops intertwine. Nice hop presence. kpresley77 (134), Jackson, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2008 Bottle pours clear golden with very little head, no lacing. Aroma is pine. First taste is sweet sugar but hops quickly take over. The finish is pine hops with little sweetness left on the lips. Not really a DIPA but good none the less. bconger (75), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 21, 2008 Bottle. Honey-brown pour with large, thick, off-white head. Toffee and citrusy hops on the nose. Remarkably robust on the palate. I expected the complex hops bouquet, but I didn’t expect the magnificent, toasty malt. There are flavors uncharacteristic for the style - like cane syrup - but this is a remarkably good beer. Long, lingering bitter finish. popkow (107), New York, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2008 Its a hop attack! If you are an IPA fan than this beer is for you plus you get the added benefit of the high ABV. Hops provide a clove, bitter, taste and finishes with a coated dark overtones of grain. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 19, 2008 Pours amber with a small, white head. Strong hop aroma, with some caramel malt backing. But this beer is all about the hops. The flavor is very hoppy, backed with the smallest amount of caramel malt. Nice mouthfeel, long hoppy finish. Lingering bitterness. ditmier (1057), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 18, 2008 2008 Bottle - Pours lt amber with a small off white head, aroma is clove honey, dried fruit, sugar...flavour is less bitter than most Lagunitas, but still with a bite, heavy malt, flavour lasts for a while, decent... cheapdark (2015), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Sep 14, 2008 First off, it’s Lag, so I’m expecting something overdone, as with most all their beers, total personality burst. Twist off somewhat shorter bottle. Flowery perfumy hop and weird fruit olfactory. Look is slightly darker than yer ubiquitous pale yellow but it’s still in that class. Very thin head wth a fine foam blanket. Little detectable carbonation on the palate during the initial swig. Starts off fairly fruity then morphs into a grating bitter chewing on green grapefruit rinds handsoap terribleness. Every taste is the same; first candy aroma then fruit commencement in mouth and finally a back of throat old dandelion greens sensation. wew. I must say however, since it has so much personality, I never would have guessed it was almost 8%! Freakish oily bastard taste hides overly alkied brew. Exceptionally annoying and intimidating. Yukky back of throat gathering lingering biting bitter to the breakingpoint. On style, try it hop head! dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 14, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy reddish-amber with a white ring. Aroma is bitter and hoppy, with a hint of sweeter fruits and some herbs and spices. Taste is sharp and bitter, of hops and herbs that picks up a dryer hoppiness as it goes. Lingering bitterness. Quite tasty double IPA.
