fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 6, 2008 Bottle. Nice aroma of pine, citrus, caramel malt. Flavor keeps some strong, fruity malt, but the hops are a little less pointed in the mouth and turn to more general spiciness/bitterness. Still, not oppressively bitter, and has a particular, bitter finish that can be a blessing or a curse. Very nice. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours orange with a thick white head and leaves nice, thick lacing. Aroma of rich bready/cookie malt and flowery hops. Flavor of lots of hop spices, bitter hops. The flavor is very muddied and it was hard to pick out anything specific. This beer has a spicy bite to it. Mouthfeel is thick and heavy. An ok IIPA but not very well balanced and too heavy for my liking. Beerman6686 (1264), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 4, 2008 POured a nice amber color with a small off white head. Aroma was very nose bitting bitter hops, mainly citrusy/pineapple notes. Flavor was also very much the same, not too smooth, just very bitter kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Jul 3, 2008 22oz bottle, shared by Omar. Thanks, man! Pours a bright, bold, slightly hazy orange color; light khaki head with great retention and medium-bubbled lacing; really nice looking pour. Solid amounts of citrus, earthy bitterness, and crystal malts in the aroma; kind of basic; minimal astringency. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy candy sugar, citrus / earthy bitterness (nothing astringent or rough), and just loads of crystal malts; relaxed carbonation; basic, typical Lagunitas ASA boredom. Ok and fairly drinkable, but not really worth the alcohol; doesn’t provide a fair amount of complexity. Lengthy, mildly bitter finish: candy sugar, crystal malts, and bitter citrus. ezyeric (7), Comstock Park, Michigan, USA does not count Jul 3, 2008 A caramel and citrus aroma, orange and brown in color, darker than most IPA’s, has a deeper almost malty flavor, more than most IPA’s with a decent hoppy bitter finish. I say it is what Anchor Steam would taste like if it were an IPA zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA Jul 2, 2008 Fine coloring and head. Aroma is fine if a little weak for the style. Really good overall for the price. Hits all the notes at the right times. Oily. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours from 22 oz bomber medium copper, aroma of floral pine resins, malted hops and caramel. Flavour is of a modest IIPA, resins and a grapefruit character come through on top of the bitterness. CurlyBill (9), Ooltewah, Tennessee, USA does not count Jun 26, 2008 Bomber poured amber with a nice head. Good hoppy aroma. Flavor starts off sweet with a nice dry bitter finish. This is a solid easy to drink beer.
